Notably, Brooks has ventured into the fashion realm with his brand Brooks by Brooks Marks and recently introduced a pride collection in collaboration with the organization GLAAD.
Fans recently targeted and ridiculed Meredith for allowing her son to design her outfit, claiming that his talent fell short, resulting in an unconventional and awkward dress.
Despite Meredith occasionally wearing her son's designs, this particular outfit sparked a negative reaction from the online community.
"She looks like she is wearing a fruit roll up," quipped one user on Reddit as a person started a thread on the topic, with a picture of Meredith wearing a pink dress for Bravo's 'Watch What Happens Live'. The original poster slammed Brooks, writing, "Meredith is so beautiful, but her son’s designs are always horrible. This is so poorly fitted."
The person further criticized the young designer as they added, "As someone who sews, it makes me cringe. That bust! What is that dothingy hanging from the side? What even is that fabric? I do love her in that color, but everything else is awful. Meredith please stop trying to make Brooks happen. He is not talented."
"I was thinking a red trashbag, but this works better," commented one user in response to the other suggesting the dress resembles a fruit roll-up.
One person also mocked the material the outfit was made of, imagining what could have led Brooks to choose this, writing, “Designers, today you’re going to be choosing your materials from the shelves at Trader Joe’s. The judges will be tasting your creation as well as as giving you marks for originality, creativity, and fit. On your marks….”
"The “feature” on the hem looks like a chewed up piece of roll up. Brooks is SUCH a “Wanna be” it’s embarrassing - those track suits were a JOKE. Now THIS," wrote one.
"I will not have you MOCKing Brooks, who is just a TODDler trying to help his MOMmy! Of COURSE there’s an an umbilical cord, it’s his signature!" added one.
"I agree that it’s lovely how supportive she is. She goes above and beyond for sure. Recall Brooks and his partner created the feathered monstrosity for the reunion. Child of mine or not, it would be a hard no to this," added another.
