Who is Macklemore's wife? Rapper addresses crowd at pro-Palestine protest outside White House
WASHINGTON, DC: Rapper Macklemore, who has been married to Tricia Davis for 8 years, addressed a pro-Palestine protest in Washington, DC, where thousands of demonstrators gathered to criticize President Biden's support for Israel and call for a ceasefire.
During the protest, the 40-year-old hip-hop artist took the podium to slam Israel's retaliatory actions while acknowledging that he might not be the most "qualified" person to speak on the matter.
“They told me to be quiet, they told me to do my research, to go back, that it’s too complex to say something, right? [They told me] to be silent in this moment,” the singer, whose legal name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, said.
“In the last three weeks, I’ve gone back and I have done some research, and I’m teachable,” the rapper said, adding “I don’t know everything, but I know enough [to know] that this is a genocide.”
Macklemore first spoke out against Israel two weeks ago in an Instagram post, where he expressed that he couldn’t “stay silent any longer.”
The 'Thrift Shop' rapper stated that he was “deeply hurt for the Israelis that lost loved ones,” but didn’t believe in “killing innocent humans in retaliation.”
“This is why I am supporting the people around the world who are calling for a ceasefire. We are witnessing an unfolding genocide in Palestine at this very moment,” he added.

Demonstrator condemns Biden at DC protest
Macklemore’s controversial address came after protestors were seen waving a Hezbollah flag through the crowd outside the White House.
The large-scale demonstration is the most recent protest against Israel's shelling of Gaza, which the state's health ministry reports has killed over 9,250 Palestinians so far.

At the protest, demonstrators even attempted to scale the White House fence as the march paused outside the Oval Office while chanting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
The protestors are calling for an end to US military assistance to Israel as well as the retaliatory attacks that the country has been subjected to against Gaza after the terror attack by Hamas on October 7 that claimed 1,400 lives.

The Israeli Embassy claims that before the protest, anti-Semitic graffiti such as "Death to Israel" and "Glory to our martyrs" was also painted on buildings in Washington, DC.

The couple reportedly dated for a few years before tying the knot back in 2015. The duo tied the knot in a very under-the-radar ceremony, which occurred only after same-sex marriage was legalized in the United States, a topic the two felt very strongly about.
Macklemore first met Davis back in the mid-2000s on MySpace, when she was pursuing a career in nursing, according to Suggest.

But once she and the 'Thrift Shop' singer became serious, she began helping him with his music career. Eventually, she decided to leave her nursing career behind to become his full-time tour manager.
