Since this information was unveiled, web sleuths have gone into overdrive spinning theories about Kohberger's lawyer.
Recently, a web detective reportedly claimed that Taylor even handled victim Madison Mogen's stepmother's Korie Hatrock's court case after being in charge of Xana's mother's case. On the other hand, a Redditor wondered why Mogen's stepmother was arrested.

The user took to Twitter and wrote, "And she was on Maddie's stepmothers case also in 2022. Must be a very small town. Why was Maddie's stepmom arrested? Rabbit hole again..."
Another user on Reddit even speculated about why Madison's stepmother was arrested and wrote, "I read Madison Morgan's obituary and it lists her stepmother as Korie Hatrock. When I Googled her name it lists her as being in jail but doesn't list the reason and the date of 11/7/22....."
The user further added, "Yesterday, it was leaked that Xana's mother and father had done prison time. I'm wondering if there is a link to this crime and what if their parents and step-parents are involved with illegal activities? Korie is listed as 46-years old. The belief online has been that these are wealthy, well-to-do families but the truth is that so far, an easy Google search has come up with three parents who've served time."
Another user digged upon Korie's social media profile and wrote, "Didn't even think to look there, then saw your comment and decided to look her up on Pinterest. The content is dark, very strange.."

However, there's no confirmation if this was the exact case or not; there has been a downpour of such bizarre theories about the victims and suspects. Korie Mogen-Hatrock is the wife of Ben Mogen and was the stepmother of Madison Mogen. The couple got married on August 8, 2020, and live in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, as per Korie's Facebook profile.
Anne Taylor involvement in Xana Kernodle's mother's case
Just a few days after her daughter Xana's murder, on November 19, Cara was taken into custody. Since then, Taylor had defended Cara in Kootenai County, but she stepped down after more than a month when a judge appointed her to represent Kohberger, according to Inside Edition. On the same day that Taylor was assigned to Kohberger's case, she also withdrew from Cara's case.
According to court documents, she was appointed Kohberger's attorney on January 5 in the morning and submitted a brief asking for substitute representation in the late afternoon. The documents indicate that there was a slight overlap between the two clients. The mother of Xana Kernodle is wanted on two felony counts of drug possession and is currently on the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office's "Active Wanted Persons" list, as reported by MEAWW.
