NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK:  George Santos, also known as Anthony Devolder, previously addressed a panel at an event encouraging LGBTQ members to quit the Democratic Party. While he is currently in the spotlight as he has been accused of fabricating many details about his life. A report has now claimed that he had another identity— an identity of a drag queen. Describing the details on Twitter, Kabas wrote along with a photo, reportedly from 2008, “I just spoke by phone with Eula Rochard, a Brazilian drag queen who was friends with George Santos when he lived near Rio. She said everyone knew him as Anthony (*never* George), or by his drag name, Kitara, and confirms this photo is from a 2008 drag show at Icaraí Beach. I conducted my interview with Eula along with a translator—a friend of mine from Brazil—so the responses I’m sharing are English translations from Portuguese.” And added, "Eula says she met Santos when he was 16 or 17 years old and became friends because they were both gay and enjoyed drag."

Who is Kitara Ravache?

Santos aka Kitara Ravache, who is the first openly gay non-incumbent Republican elected to the House, was reportedly never a professional drag performer, but did it for fun and enjoyed dressing up. “He did not have what it takes to be a professional. George did not have the glamour for that,” said Rochard to The Handbasket.

Rochard, who shared more pictures of Santos in drag on her Instagram profile, added by saying, "George had disappeared for a little while, and then returned to Brazil with a lot of money, and that was about the same time when the picture was taken." "George always lied about everything. He used to create stories, usually involving money—like that his dad was rich. But then people wondered why his mom was a cleaning lady. There’s nothing wrong with being a cleaning lady, but if his dad was rich, then why?” she expressed.

'Lies and hypocrisy'

Following the release of these pictures, many accused Santos, who associated himself with the Republican Party's right-wing which has been against drag performers, of hypocrisy. Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia "WAIT, SO GEORGE SANTOS WAS A DRAG QUEEN? I can't with his lies and hypocrisy. He's a fraud who has linked up with extremists who are trying to hurt this very community. He's sick. Hey @Santos4Congress RESIGN NOW." While another wrote, "Considering republicans have made drag queens their number one cause du jour, enemy wise, I wonder how this will sit with them." One more commented, "George Santos 'was Brazilian drag queen who used name Kitara”. Nothing wrong here, but Republicans may not like it."
