'TOWIE' star Lauren Goodger's ex-boyfriend Jake McLean died in a tragic car accident that also left his partner Yazmin Oukhellou seriously injured. The 33-year-old's car veered off a cliff in Bodrum, Turkey, and crashed over a hill. Emergency services did rush to save the two, but Jake died, while Yazmin, who he has been in a one-off relationship with, is reported to be recovering in the hospital. The 28-year-old was part of the ITVBe series as well.
According to a Daily Mail report, Goodger was left "devastated" by his untimely death. A Sun report added that Jake was in the country for a business idea. A source told the outlet that he "was driving when he lost control of the car and it went off a cliff." They also added that Yazmin has suffered "extremely" serious damage to her arm. "We're crossing our fingers and praying she makes a full recovery quickly," a source for the show added. "It's beyond shocking, just devastating for everyone connected to the show. Jake and Yaz are both very well known in our circles, and while he wasn't a saint this is just unbelievably tragic. Everyone is stunned," they said.

The Daily Mail report also revealed some details about Jake's past. It revealed that he was jailed for three-and-a-half years in 2008 after he conned his way into a mother's house pretending to be a real estate agent before a gang raided the home. He was 18 at the time. It was also reported that he had served only half his sentence.
Goodger met him on Twitter in 2013 and said she was aware of his criminal record. "Jake told me about his past. I could see how much he regretted his actions. I try to take people as I find them," she had said (via Daily Mail).
Meanwhile, Yazmin and Jake were reported to be in an on-off relationship after the latter broke up her long-term relationship with 'TOWIE' co-star James Lock in 2021. The star also ended things with Jake in January this year after she found out about his alleged affair with 'Love Island' contestant Ellie Jones. Sources suggested that her relationship with Jake was rather "toxic", and it was unknown when the couple reconciled.
