LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amid a series of recent looting incidents, Fox News personality Greg Gutfeld has put forward an unconventional perspective on how to address the issue.

Gutfeld suggested that the presence of men in positions of authority might hold the key to curbing such crimes, even suggesting that these unlawful activities could dissipate if women were no longer part of society.

This perspective emerged in response to a notable incident in Los Angeles, where a group of around 30 thieves ransacked a Nordstrom store, making off goods valued at around $300,000.

Gutfeld shared these thoughts during an episode of 'The Five' that aired on Monday, August 14, shortly after the bold daylight robbery. The discussion delved into the efficacy of deterring such criminal acts, with a specific focus on Los Angeles' Democratic Mayor Karen Bass.

Who is Greg Gutfeld's wife?

Greg Gutfeld has been married to Elena Moussa since 2004. The couple does not have children together.

What did Greg Gutfeld say about Mayor Karen Bass?

While Mayor Karen Bass labeled the daylight robbery incident as "absolutely unacceptable", Gutfeld dismissed her statements as hollow, asserting that her claims contradicted policies he believes enable such actions to persist, per Daily Mail.

Gutfeld further stated that the prevalent "smash and grab" thefts in California would cease to exist if women in positions like Bass were no longer holding office.

"How many of these problems would still exist… if all the women took a ladies' week off and they went to Venus?" he laughed, after watching the now-viral footage of the Saturday incident.

"The smash-and-grabs, the no cash bail, the rampant recidivism that we are putting up with would disappear," he said.

Gutfeld, the most highly rated host on the channel, also commented on the policies implemented during Bass's tenure since her election in 2020. "We have gotten so soft and it's because we have decided that somehow discipline and punishment is wrong," the anchor further added.

"We have decided that the carrot is better than the stick when all I want is a carrot shaped like a stick to beat looters with," he joked, adding, "That's not too much to ask, right?"

He added, "She says it's not acceptable? Of course, it's acceptable; that's why it keeps happening! If it was unacceptable, it would never happen. If you don't do anything after this happens, you're telegraphing to everybody to imitate the behavior."

"You're incentivizing this behavior, and if you try to fight back - thanks to the modern, progressive liberal - you will become the villain. You will be investigated. It's a crime to fight back, but it's no longer a crime to commit crime," Gutfeld further added.
