Who is Baker Mayfield’s wife Emily? Colin Cowherd trolls couple for saying they 'almost 100 percent' saw a UFO
Cleveland Browns' quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife Emily Mayfield are something of a well-known couple in the NFL. The duo's love is well documented on Emily's Instagram account, which has 223k followers. Unfortunately for her, Emily found herself in the middle of a trolling session by sports talk radio show host Colin Cowherd. After Mayfield tweeted that "Almost 100%, Em and I just saw a UFO drop straight out of the sky on our way home from dinner... we stopped and looked at each other and asked if either of us saw it... Very bright ball of light going straight down out of the sky towards Lake Travis. Anybody else witness this?", Cowherd trolled the couple on his show 'Herd With Colin Cowherd'.
On the show, Cowherd said, "I'm sure they had some margaritas, Austin Texas is a fun town", a comment that went viral on Twitter. It isn't the first time Emily has been caught in her husband's controversies. But who exactly is Emily? How did she meet and marry Mayfield? Their story is a very fun one with an interesting twist involving Emily's Instagram account.

Alongside her very public marriage, Emily is also known for being an outspoken supporter of her husband, often taking to social media to clash with critics of Mayfield.
Who is Emily Mayfield?
Born Emily Wilkinson in Omaha, Nebraska, not much is known about Emily's parents. She has three siblings, Sammy, Bennie and Annie. Sammy is another well known celebrity, for his music and fashion entrepreneurship. After graduating from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2013, she landed a gig as a bartender at Barry’s Bar and Grill. In 2017, she moved to Los Angeles and worked as a patient coordinator for Galanis Plastic Surgery. It was during this time that she met Mayfield, thanks to mutual friends.
After her marriage, she moved to Clevland. Emily is now a well-known Instagram celebrity, whose feed is filled with pictures of the couple. Her account is also well known for advertising fashion, where she has partnered with several stylists like Cassie Baker, Kakki Jones, and Esha Dhan. Emily also works as a special correspondent for Cleveland TV station WKYC.
When the couple first met in 2017, Emilly was hesitant about dating a “punk football player,” and rejected his advances. However, Mayfield managed to capture her attention by repeatedly following and unfollowing her Instagram account. In 2018, the couple moved in together just a few weeks after their first date and were engaged soon after. They tied the knot in July 2019 at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California.
Mayfield's biggest fan and supporter
Emily is known for being a vocal supporter of her husband, leading to her being dragged into a few controversies. In 2019, after Mayfield endured a tough season, she said on Instagram "Fair weather fans are HILARIOUS to me. Get out of here lol,” leading to a lot of criticism. She had to clarify her statement in a lengthy post, where she said "I’m talking about the idiots who say HORRIBLE things about my husband and the team when we lose, and are back to obsessing when we win. That is laughable to me."
In 2020, she again made headlines for a contraversial Instagram story where she said "Before critics and fans jump to conclusions after an injury, loss, etc. they should put themselves in the athletes’ shoes… but let’s be honest, they never could because they aren’t part of the 1.6%, the best in the world.". She also earned some blowback for trolling ESPN pundit Stephen A Smith.

Now, she found herself being trolled by Cowherd after Mayfield claimed the couple saw a UFO. It did not take Twitter long to rise to the couple's defence, trolling Cowherd in return.
'Baker Mayfield owns prime real estate in this man's head'
Many fans took to social media to criticize Cowherd's comments, with one user saying "Baker mayfield owns prime real estate in this mans head". That sentiment was echoed by another user, who said, "Lol you couldn't make this stuff up if you really tried. What is this? Again, Baker could smash every record, win a million rings, and have countless MVPs, and Colin would still say "well, he claims to see aliens, and I don't like that in my franchise guy, so I'm out on him."" "Colin is obsessed with Baker like Skip is obsessed with Lebron" shared another.
