LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cher has won an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Grammy throughout her six-decade career, but her best accomplishment has been raising her two boys, Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman.

She has, however, reportedly applied for conservatorship of her troublesome son Elijah because she is concerned he would spend all of his money on drugs.

Cher has filed court documents seeking conservatorship for her adult son Elijah, claiming that he is addicted to narcotics, unable to manage his financial affairs, and suffers from physical and mental health concerns.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ on December 27, Elijah is "substantially unable to manage his own financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues."

According to the publication, a court hearing has been set for March 6, 2024, on the matter. Elijah is the son of Cher and the late rock icon Gregg Allman, who died in May 2017 at the age of 69.

Cher stated that Elijah receives periodic payments from a trust established by Gregg, and she is concerned that he would spend his money to acquire more drugs rather than pay needed bills.

The 'If I Could Turn Back Time' singer stated that she is most equipped to be Elijah's conservator since she is Elijah's mother, and she has gotten internal family support on the matter.

According to The Blast, the 'Believe' singer stated in court documents that she has been unable to adequately communicate with Elijah on the critical matter.

She "has been unable to discuss Elijah's preferences concerning the appointment of a temporary conservator because given Elijah's current mental and physical health issues," a statement from her legal team stated.

Elijah, according to his attorneys, "is unable to form or express a preference concerning the appointment of a conservator for his estate."

Cher expressed fear in court documents that "any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself and putting Elijah's life at risk."

"I'm not suffering from any problem that millions of people in the United States aren't," she continued. "I'm a mother. This is my job - one way or another, to try to help my children," she added.

Cher went on to say, "You do anything for your children. Whenever you can help them, you just do it because that's what being a mother is. But it's joy, even with heartache - mostly, when you think of your children, you just smile and you love them, and you try to be there for them."

Is Elijah Blue Allman still married?

On December 1, 2013, Elijah married Marieangela King, "Queenie;, an English singer and member of the band KING, as well as the sister of Jazzy and Ruby King of the British musical trio Blonde Electra. Elijah filed for divorce the following year after the pair split up on April 20, 2020.

In 2023, Elijah's ex-wife, Marieangela, claimed in court that Elijah was abducted on his mother's instructions from a hotel room where they were attempting to "work out their marriage" on their anniversary in November 2022.

Cher denies accusations of kidnapping son Elijah Blue Allman

Cher stated that Elijah's former wife, Marieangela King, has been a negative presence in his life, obstructing efforts to get him the care he requires for drug and mental health difficulties.

Marieangela and Cher have had public spats in the past, with Marieangela alleging that Cher tried to abduct Elijah last year to put him in a treatment center. Cher has refuted the claims.

According to legal documents, Cher stated that Marieangela has not been "supportive of Elijah's recovery and ... actively works to keep Elijah from getting clean and sober or receiving mental health treatment that he desperately needs."

Cher stated that she was "informed" and "believes" Marieangela was instructive in making efforts "to check Elijah out of the treatment center where he was receiving much-needed medical care."

Cher said that Elijah's separation from Marieangela is one of the reasons why Marieangela "is not entitled to appointment as conservator of Elijah's estate unless the court finds, by clear and convincing evidence, that such appointment would be in Elijah's best interest."

It "would be unsafe for Elijah and his estate" to give Marieangela control of the conservatorship, Cher added, since "it would result in the immediate loss or dissipation of Elijah's assets for self-destructive purposes."

Cher told People in October that Marieangela's previous accusations that Cher kidnapped Elijah were "not true."

Is Elijah Blue Allman still part of Deadsy?

Elijah rose to prominence as the lead singer, lyricist, and guitarist for the Los Angeles-based industrial metal band Deadsy, which he co-founded in 1995 with drummer Alec Puro and producer Josh Abraham.

Later, he persuaded his buddy Renn Hawkey, who plays keyboards, and Jay Gordon, who plays bass, to join the band.

The band went on hiatus in 2007 after the release of Phantasmagore on Immortal Records/Elementree in 2006.

In 2020, it was announced that the band planned to release their third album, 'Subterfugue,' in 2021, ahead of the re-release of Phantasmagore.
