WASHINGTON, MISSOURI: A transgender clinic whistleblower has made shocking claims about the harmful side effects of drugs being given to teenagers. Jamie Reed, who has worked for four years at the Washington University Transgender Center at St Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri, alleges that the drugs given to young kids  'deform' genitalia and cause bleeding.

Reed claims that there is a 'lack of proper protocol' at the center and that doctors consider the process just another experiment. She also further claims that doctors in the clinic acted as though they were more entitled to make decisions than parents, and only one parent's consent was required in cases involving minors.

Reed has made a very serious allegation against Dr Allison Snyder-Warwick, who works at the St Louis Children’s Hospital.

Reed is a queer woman who was responsible for patient intake between 2018 and November 2022. In an article for The Free Press, Reed says she took the job with the intention of 'saving' trans kids, but that she believes what is happening amounts to 'permanent harm' to young, vulnerable children.

According to Reed, Dr Warwick has performed at least one gender transition surgery in the last few years even after the hospital told her otherwise. According to the hospital website, Dr Warwick specializes in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and works in the transgender centre of the hospital. She got her medical degree in 2004 from Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, and completed her Fellowship (Research) in 2009 in Developmental Biology/Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, from Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, MO.

Who runs St Louis Children's Hospital?

The Washington University Transgender Center at St Louis Children's Hospital  in Missouri comes under the group of the Washington University Physicians, with Paul J Scheel Jr, MD, as its CEO. Besides the transgender clinic, the group believes that they provide their patients with a wide range of board-certified specialists and the most advanced technological resources available today.

The hospital released a statement saying they were looking into the allegations. "We are alarmed by the allegations reported in the article published by The Free Press describing practises and behaviors the author says she witnessed while employed at the university’s transgender center," they said. "We are taking this matter very seriously and have already begun the process of looking into the situation to ascertain the facts."

They further added, "As always, our highest priority is the health and well-being of our patients. We are committed to providing compassionate, family-centered care to all of our patients, and we hold our medical practitioners to the highest professional and ethical standards."
