Update: Musician and songwriter Chris Stapleton has been tapped to sing the national anthem as part of the pregame entertainment lineup for the Super Bowl LVII in Arizona. The event will play out at State Farm Stadium on Sunday, February 12,2023 and broadcast on FOX.

An eight-time Grammy, 15-time Country Music Association and 10-time Academy of Country Music award-winner, Stapleton is beloved fixture in the country music scene.

Singer and songwriter Chris Stapleton, who is set to release his fourth studio album 'Starting Over' on November 13, 2020, has had a prolific career in country music. Stapleton has co-written six number-one songs, including Kenny Chesney's 'Never Wanted Nothing More', Josh Turner's 'Your Man', George Strait's 'Love's Gonna Make It Alright', and Luke Bryan's 'Drink a Beer'. Songs written by Stapleton has appeared on the albums of many artists like Adele, Brad Paisley, and Dierks Bentley, Vince Gill, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, and Ed Sheeran. He has won five Grammy Awards, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, and ten Country Music Association Awards.

Stapleton, whose debut album 'Traveller' has been certified four-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), is married to singer-songwriter Morgane Stapleton. The two artists, who met while working at adjacent publishing houses, have five children and live in Nashville.

Who is Morgane Stapleton?

Morgane Stapleton, a singer and songwriter herself, performs background, harmony, and duet vocals in Stapleton's band. She was instrumental in the creation of his debut album 'Traveller' and has written material that has been recorded by Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, and LeAnn Rimes.

"We're married so we hold each other accountable," Stapleton told The New York Times last year. "We can lift each other up on bad nights, kind of give each other a wink when we screw up or do something funny." Morgane had a friend who worked with Chris and she would hang out in the office hoping for a chance run-in with the studly songwriter. "We'd hear the jingle of his keys as he walked down the hall, and we knew he was coming to play us whatever new song he had written," Morgane told the Washington Post.

"She was a stalker," Stapleton joked in an interview with Paste. When he finally asked her to get together for a songwriting session at 6 pm on a Friday it ended up being the couple's first date. "We didn't get much writing done that night," Morgane said.

Morgane has appeared as a background session vocalist on records by Underwood, Pickler, Dierks Bentley, and Joe Nichols. Most recently, she wrote the track 'Ain't Got Nothin' On My Pain' by Reba McEntire, and 'King for a Day' by Anderson East. She was a background vocalist on Stapleton's album 'From A Room: Volume 1', and 'From A Room: Volume 2'.

She has been featured on the tracks 'The Climb' by Jessi Alexander, 'Look at Us' by John Prine, 'You Are My Sunshine' with Stapleton, 'Only Blood' by Angaleena Presley and 'Amanda' with Stapleton. But, of all her achievements, Morgane is best known for writing the hit track 'Don't Forget to Remember Me' by Underwood. Written by Morgane, Kelley Lovelace, and Ashley Gorley, the track was released in March 2006 as the fourth single from Underwood's debut album 'Some Hearts'. The song peaked at #2 on the Billboard Country charts and #49 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has sold over 500,000 copies in the US and has been certified Gold by the RIAA.

Chris Stapleton recently shared a photo of himself and his wife Morgane on Instagram. In the picture, Stapleton is posing thoughtfully in the studio ahead of the release of his new album, ‘Starting Over’. In the black and white image, Stapleton is seen sitting at the soundboard with his head down and his chin in hand while his wife Morgane is standing behind him, arms crossed, and staring in another direction. In the post's caption, Stapleton simply wrote, "One week," referring to the release date of ‘Starting Over’.

‘Starting Over’ is said to have been finished ahead of Covid-19 pandemic, but was delayed due to Stapleton's inability to tour on the album. To date, Stapleton has released three songs for 'Starting Over': the title track, ‘Starting Over’, ‘Cold’ and ‘Arkansas’. There will also be a track titled ‘Watch You Burn’ which Stapleton wrote about the 2017 mass shooting at the Route 91 Festival, which took place near the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
