Who is Chatri Sityodtong? Martial arts instructor offers Joe Rogan opportunity 'to commentate in Muay Thai': 'Come on anytime'
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Chatri Sityodtong is a Thai entrepreneur and martial arts instructor based in Singapore. He is most known for founding the Singapore-based combat sports organization ONE Championship and serving as its chairman and CEO. The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition features him as its lead.
Recently, Sityodtong offered Joe Rogan an opportunity "to commentate in Muay Thai" at ONE Championship. The world's largest martial arts organization naturally houses some of the finest pure strikers, including standout fighters like Rodtang, Superlek, and Smilla Sundell.
Chatri Sityodtong invited Joe Rogan
At ONE Friday Fights 34 last month, I witnessed what is likely the largest Muay Thai match in history between Rodtang and Superlek. Shortly after, an enamored Rogan blogged about his love for "The Art of Eight Limbs."
He wrote on Instagram, “Out of all the combat sports out there, Muay Thai has the biggest untapped potential in the Western world. The talent is there, the excitement is off the charts."
He added, "I think it’s just going to take the right organization with deep pockets to make it as huge as it deserves to be over here. Absolutely amazing fight between two masters of the art at @onechampionship!”

Combat analyst and renowned podcaster Joe Rogan has expressed his desire for the UFC to organize Muay Thai fights specifically for North American viewers on an episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience.'
Teaming up with acclaimed sports commentator Michael Shiavello, Rogan volunteered to provide commentary for the fights. In response to Rogan's request, ONE's chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong signaled his willingness to make it happen.
The president of the Singapore-based promotion addressed Rogan's comments in his post-ONE Fight Night 14 interview with The South China Morning Post. “Joe, you and I know each other, come on anytime man. If you want to commentate in the number one league by far in Muay Thai, absolute killers and monsters - which you already know, Joe - give me a call.”
Joe Rogan praised Alexander Volkanovski's victory in UFC 284
Joe Rogan contends that in the UFC 284 match, Alexander Volkanovski emerged victorious against the formidable Islam Makhachev, earning him the title of the "No.1 pound-for-pound" MMA competitor, despite his recent defeat against Makhachev.
Volkanovski (26-2 MMA) was defeated by Islam Makhachev (24-1 MMA) by majority decision at UFC 284 in 2023. On February 11th, many viewers and participants concurred that Volkanovski deserved to win.

In a podcast interview with MMAFighting, Rogan asserted that Volkanovski's performance at UFC 284 was sufficient to secure the victory, declaring him the best pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC.
Rogan said, “He’s No.1 pound-for-pound. They have him as not pound-for-pound (No.1 in the UFC) because he lost that fight (to Islam Makhachev). I think you could make a real argument that he won that fight. I think he won the fight. In my mind, he won the fight.”
He continued, “he did more damage. I think he imposed his skill set. It’s also insanely impressive that he goes up from (featherweight) to fight a massive (lightweight). That guy is as big at (155 pounds) as anybody is, and at the end of the fight, (Volkanovski) is on top beating him up.”
The 56-years-old concluded, “he drops him, gets on top of him and had massive moments throughout the fight. You kind of see vulnerability in Islam after that fight with Volkanovski. First of all, you see how good Volkanovski really is. F**king animal. (But) it sort of gives an air of vulnerability with Islam where before people were like, ‘This guy’s unstoppable,’”
