Who is Buddy Valastro's wife Lisa? A look at Cake Boss's love story which began before he tasted fame
Buddy Valastro and his wife Lisa Valastro have been married for four years and share four children. While Lisa appears as a recurring character in the reality television series 'Cake Boss', which shows the happenings inside Buddy's family bakery, she is a reality star in her own right. While most of the episodes focus on the boss and his sisters, brothers-in-law, aunts, cousins and their skills to whip up delectable pastries, we only see glimpses of Lisa on the show.
Wife, Mom and Cook Boss
Buddy has always dubbed Lisa as his best friend, an "incredible, supportive wife" and an "amazing, caring mother". He is married to Elisabetta "Lisa" Valastro (née Belgiovine) in 2001 and share four children: Sofia, Bartolo "Buddy" III, Marco, and Carlo.
The couple's love story is quite like a fairytale and the two of them renewed their wedding vows on a Disney cruise, a decade after they got married in 2001, except that this time, their children were there to witness it. When it comes to divvying up duties, there is no couple more prepared than the two of them. "He is the cake boss, I am the cook boss," Lisa said in an episode of 'The Chew'. While Buddy handles the bakery business, Lisa is in charge of the house. She is tough with the kids while Buddy is more easy-going with them. Another fact you didn't know about the two of them, is that the two of them have never had a fight.
She also has a 26-episode show called 'Lisa's Home Cooking' on 'Cake House' — Cake Boss Buddy's official Youtube channel. It was launched in 2018, and we saw the star demonstrating how to cook popular Italian dishes such as bruschetta, fresh tomato sauce, egg balls, roasted tomatoes and garlic spaghetti, and Cacio e pepe (pasta with cheese and pepper), and it continued till January 2019. She also hosted a posdcast 'What's up Cuz?' with comedian Erica Spera, producer of 607 Comedy, wherein they covered covers all that goes on in the Valastro family when the cameras are off.
Buddy-Lisa love story
Buddy and Lisa's romance goes back a long way, way before he was famous. Lisa is a first-generation Italian-American. Her mom, Gloria Belgiovine is an immigrant from Molfetta in Southern Italy. Lisa was the oldest child and the oldest grandchild in her family.
Buddy's second cousin and neighbor was Lisa's best friend. "We used to see each other all the time when we went to visit," she said in an interview. Things didn't progress between the two of them, till one Christmas, when Buddy's cousins came from Italy and asked her to come clubbing with them. Lisa said that they had been 'inseparable' since then. He was just a baker back then and Lisa would bring him food. They married in 2001 and in 2009, 'Cake Boss' was launched.
Both of them shot to fame. And the rest is history.
Cake maestro Buddy, recently made headlines when he had a gruesome bowling accident that severely injured his right hand. He was unsure if he could ever bake again, but he is now on the road to recovery. In a new TLC special 'Buddy Valastro: Road to Recovery', which just aired, Buddy shared details about the injury he sustained this fall while bowling at home with his family in Montville, New Jersey and how they reacted to it. He was trying to restart his at-home bowling alley machine's pinsetter when suddenly his right hand got trapped. While his hand remained trapped, the 'Cake Boss' star said a metal rod impaled his hand between his middle and ring fingers. He also shared photos of it on Instagram.
