Actor Anthony Mackie, famously portrayed the role of Falcon in Marvel's 'Avengers' series and will reprise the role in the upcoming standalone Disney Plus show 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier'. Before that, the actor will be seen in the Netflix film 'Outside the Wire'. One of the most intriguing things about this actor is how he has kept his romantic life away from the spotlight except for when he had revealed that Sheletta Chapital, who he has now split from, happened to be his childhood sweetheart. Before their marriage, the actor had dated Chapital on and off from about when they were seven years old.
The actor who passed out of Julliard School had a breakout moment in his career in 2014 with the release of 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' and that is also the same year that he tied the knot with Chapital. He met Chapital when the two of them were still in grade school. It was on Queen Latifah's talk show that he had opened up about his relationship with her and also revealed that she was his "falconette". He then spoke about meeting her for the first time and recalled, "So I walk in, and I looked, and I see this little girl with these ratty pigtails and skinny legs, and I was like, 'Wow!'"
He also said that the two began dating when they were seven, and she was the kid who would beat him up and take his lunch money. After having grown apart after school, the two reportedly reconnected after meeting at a rock concert and what followed was romance and a secret wedding. The media also learned about Mackie's relationship with Chapital only in the months leading up to the wedding. The news of his marriage was first broken by Page Six who reported that he had married his sweetheart six months ago at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This was when he had shot for 'Our Brand Is Crisis' with co-star Sandra Bullock.
A source was quoted as saying, "It was low-key and super-relaxed." The source also added, "They had a welcome dinner. We golfed and drank. They went on a honeymoon soon after." When the actor had married Chapital in December 2014, the two were parents to two sons. Just as his wedding was low-key, so was his split as well. Mackie and Chapital had filed for divorce on the low-key in 2017. However, their divorce was only finalized in 2018 when it was also confirmed that they will be sharing the custody of their four children. The reason for their split was not revealed at the time, however, it was reported that the divorce was amicable. Since then there has been no news of who the actor has been dating.
