Who is Angela Potts? Missing NLE Choppa's mom asks for prayers amid rapper's unexplained absence

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE: Angela Potts, mother as well as manager of rapper NLE Choppa, is worried for her son after not hearing from him for hours. In a message over Instagram, Angela asked anyone with any knowledge of Choppa's whereabouts to get in touch with her at the earliest.

The Instagram post on October 20 by Potts read, "Y’all help me pray over my child. He plans on moving back to Cottonwood where we worked hard to get out of just for a mixtape SMH! I ain’t talked to this boy in hours and he usually doesn’t do this. One thing I know about my son is that he doesn’t go ghost for any reason."

"Whatever your working on I pray GOD is guiding you. If y’all hear from him PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP ! To the fans he wants to please thanks a lot," the post continued.

According to TMZ, it is not clear if NLE gave Angela a reason to believe he could be in trouble, or whether he just faced a lot of pressure to keep up with his own career.

A management-posted message on the rapper's Instagram story also urged fans to reach out to Potts in case they had any information about him.

NLE Choppa's rise to stardom

The real name of NLE Choppa is Bryson Lashun Potts. The 19-year-old became a viral sensation after the release of his track Shotta Flow in January 2019. The video gained 10 million views in one month.

His debut studio album Top Shotta was released in August 2020, featuring the likes of Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, and Chief Keef.

NLE Choppa's net worth was estimated to be $3 million as of 2021, reported The Sun.

NLE Choppa had past trouble with law enforcement

According to The Sun, Choppa was arrested in 2021 on burglary, gun, and drug charges.

Two other people, Zyrion Matlock, and Thony Coleman, were also taken into custody at the time, according to XXL Mag.

Angela Potts posts NLE Choppa is 'OK' on Instagram

In the latest post on her Instagram account, Angela writes, "Thank you for the PRAYERS and SUPPORT. Choppa's ok he just needed a minute, but didn't communicate it to his loved ones. I never intended to scare anyone with my post nor did I expect people to think he is missing But the frustrations of being the mother of a celebrity can be a bit much and overwhelming at times.
