The young actress prefers keeping her personal life private. While the details of her boyfriend are unknown, on Mother's Day 2023, Cox announced that she is expecting a baby boy with him.

In the caption, she called him "fiance". Since then, it is speculated that they got engaged around the same time. Later in 2023, the couple welcomed a baby boy.

A former member of the girls' basketball and volleyball teams at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf in 2014 and 2015, Cox is also an amputee who wears a prosthetic leg.
The details of how she became an amputee remain undisclosed. Despite facing physical challenges, Alaqua Cox has paved the way to become Marvel's upcoming superhero sensation.

How did Alaqua Cox land a role with Marvel?
A few years ago, Alaqua was reportedly working at an Amazon center with no predefined aim of becoming an actor. However, fate played its game and she ended up being a Marvel actor.
Alaqua had no acting experience except one school play in high school. Her friends spotted the casting notice of 'Hawkeye', Cox said in an interview with People.
As the casting call mentioned the need for a Native American actress and female deaf actress, Cox found herself a great fit and decided to go for an audition.
