MILLEDGEVILLE, GEORGIA: Mama June Shannon's daughter Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell died on December 9, 11 months after being diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. However, June would reportedly take the custody of Anna's elder daughter, Kaitlyn Elizabeth, born in 2012.
June has an extremely close relationship with her 11-year-old granddaughter Kaitlyn, according to TMZ. The reality star has stepped in to take care of Kaitlyn after she lost her mother to cancer.
Considering Kaitlyn's special bond with her grandmother, the entire family agreed June was the best person to take care of her. Meanwhile, June also planned to file a petition in the court to be Kaitlyn's official legal guardian.
Anna's younger daughter Kylee Madison, born in 2015, has been currently living with her biological father, Michael Cardwell. However, the outlet reported that it was always the plan for Kylee to move in with her biological father after Anna's death.
Meanwhile, social media users objected to June taking Kaitlyn's custody and noted that she was doing this only for money. A Reddit user wrote, "She couldn’t even take care of the children she birthed..yikes all around."
Another person added, "How the actual hell does this even happen. She couldn't take care of Alana, how's she supposed to take care of thos girl? I think she's only doing it to get money out of the situation. I'm glad to hear both Michael and Eldrige will continue to be in both girls lives, but hot damn."
Another critic noted, "And so it begins… this was her plan from the moment she found out her own daughter was dying. She gets custody, she gets legality over all finances from that point on. This is the same woman that sold everything in her house, including a lot of her kids stuff, to support her drug addiction."

Mama June's family to divide Anna Cardwell's ashes
'Mama June' star Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell would be put to rest via cremation. However, Anna's ashes would reportedly be fairly distributed to June Shannon's family after she was cremated.
According to the TMZ, the ashes would be split up and divided among her family members. While specifics haven't been worked out as of yet, several family members want to have crystals or pieces of jewelry made with Anna's ashes inside.
The outlet has also revealed that Anna was also being fingerprinted at the funeral home. The fingerprints could be used to make keepsakes as well.
Additionally, several family members have been considering using Anna's fingerprints to get tattoos as well.
Mama June Shannon to have 'Tina dance' at Anna Cardwell's service
Mama June Shannon revealed the heartbreaking news of her daughter Anna Cardwell's death on her social media. However, she later took to TikTok and revealed that the family will be holding visiting hours for Anna at Williams White-Columns Funeral Home in Gordon, Georgia.
The visitation hour would proceed with what June described as a 'short but amazing service' as they honour Anna. She referred to the signature moves of Bob's Burgers character Tina Belcher and said in the video, "We're doing something for her which is going to be the Tina dance with her as one of her last things."
June added, "As you'll know, that bitch loved to do the Tina dance for ya’ll on the couch — no, sorry, on the bed. So many times, you'll loved that. And when she actually was down and about, she couldn’t do it any more after chemo, you'll missed that."
Was Anna Cardwell married to her beau Eldridge Toney?
'Mama June' star Anna Cardwell was reportedly married to her longtime boyfriend, Eldridge Toney. Anna and Toney reportedly got married on March 4 in Wilkinson County, Georgia, according to a copy of the marriage license.
The couple began dating in 2017 following Anna's divorce from ex-husband Michael Cardwell, with whom she welcomed daughter Kylee Madison in 2015. Anna was also mom to daughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth, born in 2012.
