Actress Carol Arthur, known for playing supporting roles in films produced by legendary comedian Mel Brooks, died at the age of 85 at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Los Angeles. Diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2011, Arthur is remembered for portraying the outspoken town school teacher Harriett Johnson in Brooks' satirical Western black comedy 'Blazing Saddles'. She also guest-starred in many television shows from the mid-1970s to the mid-2000s, including 'The Dom DeLuise Show', 'Emergency!', 'Sanford and Son', 'Rhoda', 'Alice', Steven Spielberg's 'Amazing Stories', 'St. Elsewhere' and '7th Heaven'.
Brooks tweeted about the actor's demise saying, "Sad to hear of Carol Arthur’s passing. She was so great in Blazing Saddles as Harriett Johnson the over-the-top, outspoken schoolmarm. She will be missed."

Who are Carol Arthur's sons?
Arthur was married to actor Dom DeLuise from 1965 till his death in 2009. He was best known as a frequent guest on television variety shows and for his work in the films of Brooks and Gene Wilder as well as his collaborations with Burt Reynolds ('The Cannonball Run', 'Cannonball Run II', 'Smokey and the Bandit II', 'The End' and 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas').
Arthur and DeLuise have three sons — Peter, Michael and David DeLuise — all of whom are actors.
Peter DeLuise
An actor, director, producer and screenwriter, 53-year-old Peter is known for his role as Officer Doug Penhall on '21 Jump Street'. He also directed and wrote episodes of the sci-fi franchise 'Stargate'. He made guest appearances on television shows 'The Facts of Life', 'Booker' ('21 Jump Street' spin-off), 'Friends', 'Supernatural', 'Highlander: The Series', 'Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda' and 'Stargate SG-1'. Most recently, he made a cameo appearance alongside Johnny Depp in 2012's '21 Jump Street' and directed episodes of Hallmark's 'When Calls the Heart' and the TV film 'Love Under the Olive Tree'.
Michael DeLuise
Actor, film director and producer, 51-year-old Michael made his debut in 1979 opposite his father in the comedy 'Hot Stuff'. From 1990, he played Officer Joey Penhall on '21 Jump Street' alongside his real-life brother Peter. The two also starred on 'SeaQuest DSV' from 1994 to 1996. He made recurring appearances in 'Gilmore Girls' 'NYPD Blue', and guest appearances on 'CSI: NY', 'Lost' and 'Stargate SG-1'. Michael also appeared in movies such as 'Wayne's World' and 'Encino Man'.
David DeLuise
An actor and television director, 48-year-old David is best known for appearing on '3rd Rock From The Sun', 'Jesse', 'Megas XLR' and 'Wizards of Waverly Place', and for his movie roles in 'Terror Tract' and 'Jam'. His most recent film role was in the Christian drama 'Unbroken: Path to Redemption' directed by Harold Cronk. He also played a small role in the 'Shameless' episode 'A Little Gallagher Goes A Long Way', and 'NCIS' episode 'Going Mobile'.
