Sasha Obama rapping in TikTok video goes viral: Here's what the former First Daughter is up to now
Former president Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama’s younger daughter, Sasha Obama, is creating buzzes on the Internet after she was spotted in a TikTok video. The video, which was first found on one of her friends’ TikTok accounts, showed the two girls rapping and dancing to Moneybagg Yo’s ‘Said Sum’ remix featuring DaBaby and City Girls.
The video gained attention after one Twitter user shared it on their account and noted that it was the Obamas' youngest child who was rapping to the song. The tweet read, “I thought I was tripping when I saw Sasha Obama in these but it’s definitely her, idk why they deleted them they weren’t that bad.”

The tweet soon went viral as more and more people began recognizing the former president's daughter. The original videos of Sasha have been reportedly taken down from the Internet. But a few who got hold of it before it was deleted are continuing to share it on various platforms. The majority of them have even expressed that they were rather happy to see Sasha leading a normal life after leaving the White House when Obama's term ended.
Sasha's life after leaving the White House
After Obama's presidency ended in 2017, Malia was in the middle of the gap year that she had taken before getting into Harvard University, while Sasha was yet to turn 16. This was also one of the reasons the Obamas decided to stay in Washington DC. Her 16th birthday was celebrated in a rented 8,200-square foot home in Kalorama where the family moved into after leaving the White House. According to E!, the birthday party was a VIP-only event and not many pictures of the birthday girl were available.
The 19-year-old graduated from Sidwell Friends School in 2019 and went on a family vacation to the south of France before enrolling in the University of Michigan. Michelle, in conversation with Jenna Bush Hager on Today, got a tad bit emotional as she recounted Sasha's send-off. She said, "We didn't want to embarrass her because she had roommates and it was at the end, after lunch, when we said that final goodbye. When we got into a car, me, Barack and Malia, who was there with us, and then Sasha drove off on her own and said that last goodbye." The video sees the former First Lady mimick sob noises as she continues, "That's when we were like..."
Apparently, Sasha has maintained an active social life in college as well. Perhaps, one could determine that from the TikTok videos she was recently spotted in. And E! noted that Sasha's friends have been respectful of her private life. Some of the Twitter users have also spoken in favor of Sasha and tried shutting trolls or media outlets who are trying to blow this out of proportion. One tweeted, "Ppl need to let that girl have her life! Blazing her own damn trail!" Another added, "Right! She’s a young college student doing what young college students do. They need to let her enjoy life!" And one noted, "Yes. People are so RIDICULOUS. Sasha spent eight long years staying prim and proper so her parents could endure that White House scandal-free. Let her live!"
