Where is Ryan Phillippe now? Reese Witherspoon gets candid about announcing divorce from Jim Toth on her 'own terms'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Reese Witherspoon is finally talking about her divorce from her talent agent husband Jim Toth. She compared her second divorce to her first one in a recent cover interview and described the period after her split as "vulnerable." She also couldn't help but observe how different it was to be a part of the discourse after telling the world the news, which she pointed out wasn't the case when she separated from Ryan Phillippe. Witherspoon claims that she is happy that she was able to convey the news of the separation "on her own terms" because it seemed more "authentic."
Days before their 12th wedding anniversary in March 2023, Witherspoon announced her separation from Toth, with whom she shares a 10-year-old son, Tennessee. A few days later, she announced that she and her husband were divorcing due to their irreconcilable differences. Witherspoon is the mother of Tennessee as well as Ava, 23, and Deacon,19, who she had with Phillippe, as per E! News.

Where is Ryan Phillippe now?
It was more than 20 years ago when Millennials saw the handsome curly-haired blond teenager for the first time in the movie 'Cruel Intensions'. Phillippe, who played the arrogant Sebastian Valmont, seemed to slam into everyone's life. Phillippe met Witherspoon while they were filming 'Cruel Intentions' and their romance blossomed thereafter. Witherspoon was a young actress at the time, bright-eyed and on the cusp of stardom.
Following that, he made appearances in the films 'Company Man', 'Crash', 'Breach', 'MacGruber', 'The Lincoln Lawyer', 'Brothers by Blood', and 'One Shot'. The native of Delaware also appeared in the films 'Damages', 'Secrets and Lies', 'Shooter', 'Big Sky', and 'MacGruber'. Phillippe created and directed his debut film, 'Catch Hell', in 2014. He contributed to the project's production as well, and he has subsequently produced 'Shooter' and 'The 2nd'. Phillippe has also contributed to numerous endeavors for both the big and small screens. He appeared in a 'Will and Grace' reboot episode this year. He also appeared in the movies 'Lady of the Manor' and 'The Sound of Philadelphia'.

We are all familiar with Phillippe and Witherspoon's whirlwind fairytale beginning: they were married, had two kids, and lived, not exactly happily ever after. Even though their relationship didn't end in the fabled happily ever after, their friendship and shared love for their kids keeps them close. The 'Cruel Intentions' actor is still just as attractive at age 48 as he was when he was younger, as you can see if you follow him on Instagram. Given that he is still a dreamboat, there is absolutely nothing wrong with him enjoying shooting shirtless and mirror selfies. He doesn't appear to have aged even a day.
'Feels much more authentic to say things in my own voice'
Witherspoon recently opened up about her divorce experience with her second husband and the 'Big Little Lies' star revealed in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, "I think about how many other people are going through this experience. I don’t feel isolated at all. I feel very connected." Witherspoon compared her recent split to her 2008 divorce from Phillippe, saying: "When I was divorced before, the tabloid media got to tell people how I was feeling or how I was processing, and it felt very out of control."
The Academy Award-winning actress further explained: "To be able to talk to people directly about what’s going on in my life and just share it in the way that I share great professional experiences or personal experiences, it feels much more authentic to be able to say things in my own voice and not let somebody else control what’s happening"
It doesn't mean, though, that she is unaware of the intrigue surrounding the separation. Witherspoon added, "Then, of course, there's speculation, but I can't control that. All I can do is be my most honest, forthright self and be vulnerable. It's a vulnerable time for me."
After Witherspoon and Toth, who have a 10-year-old son together named Tennessee, revealed their split, a source informed E! News that the split was amicable. The insider stated about the couple in April that "there is no drama, no event, or reason. They are just two people who have made this decision with the utmost love and respect and love for their child."
