Where is Kate Sisk now? 'MAFS' alum accuses comedian with unnerving name of exploiting her trauma
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Amid the uproar over the treatment of 'Love Is Blind' participants, 'Married at First Sight' alum Kate Sisk spoke out about her time on the Lifetime reality program. According to her, a comedian is attempting to "exploit" her time on the show for laughs and gags.
On August 7, Kate used Instagram to deliver a lengthy message to her fans. The message began: "My name is Kate Sisk. I was married to Luke on Married at First Sight in 2018–2019. It was an abusive, traumatizing experience and we divorced."
She mentioned that the show gets over one million viewers per episode. According to the Lifetime star, in 2021, a comedian called Kate Sisk (like what are the odds?) invented a persona named "Luke" to "capitalize off the hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of people" searching for "Kate Sisk and Luke."
She also described how they renamed all of their events the "Luke Ass Spectacular" and featured Luke on social media, websites, and promotional materials.
The 'MAFS' alum added, "When you search for Kate Sisk, you can see in Google Search results, 'People also search for: Luke' I believe this is where they got the idea to exploit my experience for their gain."
Kate messaged the comic, contacted them, and even sent a letter to them and their manager this year gently requesting that they cease utilizing Luke, but received no response.
Kate chose to report their profile. She was weary of being exploited.
"That show was MY experience," she said in the piece. "I went through that trauma and came out stronger."
"I took that pain and built a small business. I need people who are searching for me to find me. Not someone who is trying to falsely associate with me," she stated.
Kate currently runs a lingerie and underwear shop based out of Philadelphia named Hidden Intimates.
Kate reported that the comedian's profile was removed, and they claimed on X that Kate did so because she was a "transphobic narcissist."
Kate addressed her followers, "Anyone who follows me knows I actively fight for trans rights. I have had multiple trans people model for my small business, I vote blue, I donate and I have conversations with people on and offline."
She added: "For Kate to incite their followers to harass me for being 'transphobic' and narcissistic makes this even worse (especially if you watched the narcissistic abuse I went through on this show)."
Kate alleges that the comedian's supporters have been harassing her for "the past 24 hours. This post is for them."
She asked, "This about all this for a second. Do you really think Kate chose to use Luke in ALL of her promotional materials after 2020 just because she liked that name?"
The caption of the post further wrote, "*EDIT* the Luke character was created the same year the show aired (2019). Us having the same name is a coincidence. Her using Luke in conjunction with our shared name shortly after the show airing, is not. It’s exploitation.
"I am not telling anyone to harass this comedian. They did that to me. I am telling my side of the story.
"I will delete this post if she stops using “Luke.” She has her profile back, so any of her friends still trolling are just doing it for fun."

What happened between 'MAFS' Season 8 alums Kate Sisk and Luke Cuccurullo?
Kate and Luke's marriage was among the least happy in 'MAFS' history. Their relationship had problems from the beginning, much like many of the couples on the show, due to a lack of mutual desire.
Even though Luke informed Kate that kissing her made him feel "repulsed and dead inside," that didn't stop him from having sex with her. Throughout their eight weeks together, the pair had several arguments, so no one was shocked when they called it quits on Decision Day.
Then, during the 'MAFS' Season 8 reunion, things became pretty nasty. Equipped with a list of forty reasons why she believed her ex was homosexual, Kate arrived.
He disclaimed having any interest in guys.
Kate obviously didn't enjoy her time on 'MAFS', and she has previously expressed her dissatisfaction with both the program and the experts. She spoke out once more in 2023, this time in response to new controversies about the treatment of 'Love Is Blind' candidates.
The producers of 'Love Is Blind' and 'MAFS' are Kinetic Content. According to an Insider story, some contestants on Netflix's popular reality dating program have accused producers of depriving them of food and sleep and of not allowing them to stop filming even when their mental health declined.
Kate finds their accusations to be credible.
She stated, "I believe it," in a remark on the MAFSfan Instagram page. "It was emotional warfare and psychological torture."
Kate said that her mental health suffered greatly during her time on 'MAFS'.
“I got PTSD and a panic disorder from MAFS – took years to heal, and still am,” she noted. “I feel terrible for the contestants I’m sure it was even worse on Love is Blind. At least we ate well on MAFS lol.”
There are some significant distinctions between 'MAFS' and 'Love is Blind'. In the former, individuals are not cut off from their friends and family; the video is shot over a number of months.
On the other hand, 'Love is Blind' is filmed during a ten-day period of extreme intensity. Additionally, contestants spend much of their time in windowless pods on a set.
But regardless of the format, Kate stated that taking part in these programs may be harmful and that the welfare of the cast members has to be given greater consideration.
"I hope something is done,” she noted. “There have been too many suicides from reality tv show participation and these shows keep getting worse."
Kate also disclosed that she never would have accepted to go on 'MAFS' if she had known what it would be like. Producers, according to her, "told me they found the perfect match for me" after finding her on social media. Upon viewing many seasons, she made the decision to enroll.
Kate said that she was informed by the producers that they were doing a "dating documentary" and that they would utilize her "history and psychological results to find a perfect match like they said they would." She asserted that the exact reverse occurred.
“They used it against me, and paired me with someone who was a lot like my abusive narcissistic father and ex-boyfriend. It was triggering,” she noted. “They tried to push me to my breaking point. Every single day.”
