LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Menudo is a legendary boy-band that originated in Puerto Rico back in 1977. Known for its dynamic music and youthful energy, Menudo became an international sensation during the late 1970s and 1980s. The group was unique in its concept of continually rotating members as they grew older, ensuring a fresh, youthful image that appealed to fans worldwide.

Few years back, Menudo made a comeback with a new lineup featuring Gabriel Rossell, Andres Emilio, Alejandro Querales, Ezra Gilmore, and Nicolas Calero. This revitalized group from California underwent a rigorous audition process under the guidance of seasoned music industry professionals. They recently debuted their new single 'Mi Amore' and are gearing up for the release of 'Brownie Sugar', produced by SagaWhiteBlack.

Their return to the spotlight includes appearances on major shows and events, reconnecting with longtime fans and introducing their music to new audiences. Menudo's legacy continues to thrive, more so now, as the next generation band aims to make their big appearance on 'AGT' Season 19.

Menudo selected five boys from their band to appear on 'AGT'

Menudo recently selected five talented boys from their lineup to appear on 'AGT' as the decision-making process was challenging due to the abundance of exceptional talent within the group. However, after careful consideration, the final five members were chosen based on their individual skills and talents.

Mario Lopez, from the production team of Menudo said, "Deciding on the final five was harder than we thought because there was so much great talent to consider. The five boys selected gelled together instantly, and the music they’re creating has exceeded all of our expectations. I think we have several massive hits and I’m more excited than ever to introduce these boys to the world."

Menudo band from 1977 faced sexual abuse accusations

Menudo, the iconic boy band formed in 1977 in Puerto Rico, faced allegations of sexual abuse involving its young members during its early years. The allegations emerged primarily around the time when the band was at the height of its fame in the late 1970s and 1980s.

During this period, Menudo operated under a unique concept where members were regularly replaced as they aged out of their teenage years. This practice involved recruiting new, young boys into the band as older members left, often resulting in intense competition and pressure within the group.

Reports and allegations suggested that some members of Menudo experienced instances of sexual abuse or exploitation by individuals associated with the band or within the music industry. These allegations were significant in casting a shadow over the band's otherwise glamorous and successful image.

Despite these allegations, Menudo continued to enjoy widespread popularity and success for several decades, producing numerous hit songs and launching the careers of several well-known Latin music stars.
