Where is Kate Gosselin's estranged son Collin now? Star joined celeb boot camp to earn 'cool mom points'
Reality star Kate Gosselin will next be seen on FOX in the show 'Special Forces: World's Toughest Test,' which premieres on January 4. The boot camp-style competition pushes celebs to the limits of their physical abilities. Speaking recently about her experience on the show, Kate said, "It was intense" and she joined the show hoping to earn "cool mom points." Gosselin has eight children together with her ex-husband Jon Gosselin - twin daughters Mady and Cara, 21, and 18-year-old sextuplets Hannah, Collin, Alexis, Aaden, Joel and Leah. However, her relationship with her son Collin has hit a rough patch.
She told PEOPLE, "I knew I was crazy going into it, but as afraid of it as I was — because I kept trying to be like, 'No, no, I can't do that!' — then I'd find myself awake at night being like, 'But what if I could?' I mean, obviously if I was in my 20s, I'd have a better chance of whipping it. But I knew, given my age, I mean let's be real, how far could I go? I knew my mental determination could take me [far], but my physical status, I'm not physically running marathons currently. So that part was really worrying, but at the same time, just even giving it a shot I thought would bring me some cool mom points." The series also features Jamie Lynn Spears, the 'Spice Girls' singer Melanie "Mel B" Brown and 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star Kenya Moore.

Where is Collin Gosselin now?
Collin previously said that reality TV tore the family apart and is now living with his father Jon, 45. He reflected on the time when he was put in an institution to help him deal with his alleged behavioral issues. He told ET, "After being there, I didn't have a relationship with her. Even before [being] there, I don't think we had much of a relationship and I think that just kept tearing it even more down." He expressed how the destruction of his relationship with his mother was further guaranteed by the pressures of having a family star on a reality TV show.
Collin shares, "I want to believe it was because of TV and what being in the public eye does to a family. I think it tore us apart. It gave us less time to actually be together as a family, [and] more time to be in the public eye." He said it "was worse than what you would say the average teenage kid goes through with their parent." He continued, "I came to the conclusion that everybody has their own agenda, you know? My mom had her own agenda, and I don’t know exactly what that was. But I was put in a tough spot and my agenda was to make it out on top of that tough spot. It's unfortunate that we didn't have a relationship. I think every son wants to have a relationship with their mom. But I'm doing very well."
