The couple, who have been together for about four years, announced their engagement with synchronous Instagram posts.
In 2020, Scott explained that he had never seen a single episode of 'New Girl' before they started dating, but he stuck around when they did.
After four years of dating, the 'Property Brothers' host proposed to the 'Physical' star on August 13 in Scotland.

Jonathan proposed to Zooey Deschanel on a family holiday to Scotland.
Zooey's two children, Elsie, 8, and Charlie, 6, were both present for the memorable occasion. Everyone was pleased, and of course, Zooey said, "Yes!"
In a snapshot shared on Instagram, the couple can be seen smiling as they pose in front of the rugged Scottish landscape at the foot of a stone castle.
Zooey showed off her beautiful ring set with transparent, pink and purple stones in a floral design.
The couple also shared the news on their Instagram accounts. The simple statement read, "Forever starts now," followed by some smiling love emojis and an infinity symbol.

Are the 'Property Brothers' Scottish?
Proposing Zooey in Scotland has great significance for Jonathan, as he has often had his story intertwined with pivotal moments in his life.
At his brother Drew Scott's wedding in 2018, both donned kilts for the ceremony. Jim, the twins' father, immigrated to Canada as a teenager.
Their parents instilled in them a strong sense of family and ancestry. Their Scottish heritage is something they cherish, and they have visited Scotland several times with their close relatives.
When they were young, the two decided to learn to play the bagpipes. They giggled at the memory of how they played the bagpipes and still do occasionally. Drew even performed in one of their episodes.
They make fun of how "romantic" bagpipes are and how "easy" it is to play them. Regardless, they treasure that aspect of their background, Evalogue Life reports.
How did Zooey Deschanel meet Jonathan Scott?
Zooey and Jonathan have been together since they met while recording an episode of 'Carpool Karaoke' in 2019.
From discussing their common love of the environment to supporting one another at work, the couple has provided fans with lots of beautiful updates during their courtship.
The couple revealed a sneak peek at the property they spent nearly two years remodeling together in April 2022.
Scott discussed the acquisition in an editorial for Drew + Jonathan Reveal, referring to it as their "dream home."
"Eight months into our relationship, I already knew Zooey was the yin to my yang, the PB to my J. We were on parallel paths toward the happiness we'd been seeking our whole lives," he wrote.
The couple is now preparing to spend eternity together, having announced their engagement in August 2023.
