'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' star lands her first movie role — all about her holiday rom-com debut
Whitney Leavitt is making a decisive leap from reality television and social media stardom into scripted film, and she's doing it on her own terms. The breakout personality from Hulu's viral hit 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' is set to both star in and executive produce a new holiday romantic comedy titled 'All for Love'. This marks her first feature film role. The project, currently in production, pairs Leavitt opposite Jesse Kove, best known to audiences for his role on Netflix's 'Cobra Kai'. The film is being produced by The Ninth House, the company behind 'Lifetime's Forever'.
And it is already drawing interest from multiple distributors ahead of its planned release during next year's holiday season. According to Deadline, in 'All for Love', Leavitt plays Winona, a driven podcaster who prides herself on independence and skepticism when it comes to romance. Her carefully controlled worldview is shaken when she reluctantly agrees to participate in a holiday-themed dating app. What begins as an obligation slowly turns personal when she connects with a mysterious man online who seems to embody everything she's been missing.
The twist, of course, is that her digital dream match isn’t a stranger at all. Unbeknownst to Winona, the man behind the screen is Luke, portrayed by Kove. He's a rugged, hands-on renovator tasked with restoring her grandmother's Christmas Eve event venue. In real life, Luke is exactly the kind of person Winona assumes she could never fall for. The film is being directed by Jake Helgren, who has carved out a niche in the seasonal romance space with titles like 'A Cowboy Christmas Romance'. The screenplay was written by Ansley Gordon, whose previous credits include 'A Christmas Frequency'.
Producing alongside Helgren is Autumn Federici for The Ninth House, with James Black also attached. Executive producer duties are shared by Gordon, Leavitt, and Prashant Mody. Leavitt's move into scripted entertainment comes at a pivotal moment in her career. She first gained widespread attention through TikTok, where she built a sizable and loyal following. That online popularity laid the groundwork for her casting on 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives', which quickly became one of Hulu's most talked-about reality series. Beyond reality television, Leavitt has been steadily broadening her resume.
She recently competed on 'Dancing with the Stars', where she was paired with professional dancer Mark Ballas. At the same time, she has been open with fans about her desire to transition into acting, frequently teasing upcoming projects on social media. Also, her ambitions extend beyond film. Leavitt is also preparing to make her Broadway debut, stepping into the iconic role of Roxie Hart in 'Chicago' beginning February 2, 2026, as per People magazine. The move places her among a growing list of reality stars attempting to translate popularity into lasting performance careers.
