LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tori Kelly, the Grammy-winning singer, and songwriter, has opened up as she faces some serious health challenges after she collapsed on Sunday night, July 23. Tori was dining with friends in Los Angeles when she felt her heart racing, and then she lost consciousness.

Her friends rushed her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was diagnosed with blood clots in her legs and lungs. These clots could have led to a stroke or a pulmonary embolism, which are potentially fatal conditions. The doctors, as of Thursday, were still trying to find out if there are any clots near her heart, which could also endanger her life.

Has Tori Kelly recovered?

Tori is still in the hospital and recovering from the ordeal. She shared an update with her fans on Thursday, July 27, via Instagram. "As you may have heard, I’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges," she began. “It’s been a scary few days but I can feel your prayers & can’t stop thinking about you. I’m feeling stronger now & hopeful but unfortunately, there are still some things to uncover,” she wrote in a note posted in a handwritten note on the social media account.

She also expressed her sadness over missing the release of her EP, which was scheduled for Friday, July 28 but shared that her health was the priority at the time.  "Of course, I’m heartbroken about all of the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EP, but I know my health must come first."

'I am truly overwhelmed'

Despite the condition, the Grammy winner indicated going ahead with the planned project and subsequently the release on Friday as she wrote, "Until I see you again, I still want you to enjoy a project that represents the happy place I’ve been in the last few years. I won’t let this hurdle prevent the music from being yours on Friday!" Not going into the details of what exactly caused her to collapse, she said, “I’m so grateful for the amazing doctors & nurses who have been looking after me,” she wrote before adding “I love you all so much & I am truly overwhelmed by all of the love & care I have received, Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

'We all still gonna be here when you recover'

Tori’s husband, Andre Murillo, also posted an update earlier. He thanked Tori’s fans for their support and said that she was smiling again and feeling stronger. “Not fully out of the woods but we see the sun. Just waiting on a few more answers,” he wrote on his Instagram Story on Wednesday, July 26. Tori Kelly, who rose to fame with her hit songs like 'Nobody Love' and 'Hollow', won two Grammys in 2019 for her gospel album 'Hiding Place'. Meanwhile, fans reacted to her Instagram post rating for her speedy recovery as one wrote, ‘Believing for you to completely recover! In the meantime, we will BUMP this EP and hopefully bring you some joy by enjoying these songs!" One fan suggests she look after her health for now and that they are not going anywhere if the release had to be postponed, "We love you…. Get better… Don’t worry about your music & fans right now! We all still gonna be here when you recover."
