'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' stars' BTS post tease major season 4 changes
'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' cast may have just shared some hints on season 4. The series is inching towards the end of filming, bringing the impressive Paramount+ series' fifth and final run to a close. Earlier, the streamer renewed the series for a six-episode fifth season. Production began in the fall of this year and is expected to wrap up before the Christmas holidays.
Season 4 is expected to release next year, and ahead of the much-awaited drop, Anson Mount shared an album on social media of the behind-the-scenes photos given by Jess Bush to her co-stars. Most of the pics were from the first three seasons, but one of the images hints at a new hint from the fourth season.
The images feature Martin Quinn, Jess Bush, Celia Rose Gooding, Babs Olusanmokun, Melissa Navia, Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Christina Chong, and her dog, Runa Ewok. What's new is Ethan Peck's new look, which leads to whether the picture teased his avatar from maybe season 4, or even 5. Peck is seen as Lieutenant Spock, but sports a different look compared to his first three seasons. Captain Pike is also seen in black tactical gear, like Spock, hinting at a landing mission.
Earlier, Chong teased what was in store for fans in the fourth season."Oh, I think it’s very different," she told TrekMovie. "I think it's WAY better… It’s way better because there are more swings. And I just think there’s more social commentary, maybe that wasn’t there as much in season 3. And it’s a lot of fun. But there are so many things in it. It is probably the season that has the most episodes that are genre-blending. So watch out. Be prepared."
She also shed light on the final season. "I mean, it’s bittersweet. It is sad. It’s realizing this is the last time we’re all on the bridge together. Okay, this is the last time I’m on the bridge. This is the last time I’m going to put on this uniform. This is the last time I’m going to be in a scene with Spock… It’s all those last times… My last costume fitting is tomorrow [Monday, November 24]. It’s crazy that it still doesn’t feel real, it’s coming to an end."
"It’s not just the cast, it’s the crew. We’ve worked with these people for five years. Almost all the crew are still there from day one, and it’s such a gift to be able to work with the same familiar, friendly faces every day. Because it allows you to relax and bring your best performance… So, yeah, it’s kind of sad, but like with anything, trying to appreciate the last few moments and then also looking forward to what is to come."
'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' releases in 2026 on Paramount+.
