LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: HBO miniseries ‘Love & Death’ gives us a detailed look at what happened in the Betty Gore murder case and how Candy Montgomery turned out to be the prime suspect during the investigation. In the fifth episode of the show, we saw Candy being taken into custody and the beginning of the trial. Meanwhile, the latest episode was all about the trial and how Candy’s lawyer tried to change the entire narrative.

On the very first day of the trial, when the jury was being chosen, he told everyone that his client did kill Betty Gore on June 13th, 1980. He also made it clear that she did that in order to defend herself from Betty who was going to kill her with an axe. The trial began with Allan Gore taking the stand and telling the truth. He told the jury that he didn’t have any idea if Betty knew about the affair. Allan also made it clear he didn’t have any reason to believe that Candy killed Betty. After him, all the people who went inside Allan’s house to find out about Betty took the stand and told what they saw, including the sheriff and the forensics expert.
