'Ted Lasso' star Jason Sudeikis once tried to date 'Horrible Bosses' co-star Jennifer Aniston, and her reaction was legendary
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jason Sudeikis is currently riding high on the success of his record-breaking series ‘Ted Lasso’s Season 3. The Apple TV+'s fan-favorite series sky-rocketed into popularity back in 2020 and has since made people fall in love with Sudeikis’ character of an American Football coach, who crosses the Atlantic Ocean to train a failing UK soccer team.
While Sudeikis is scoring great reel-life success with ‘Ted Lasso’, he has apparently fallen short in real life, especially when it comes to the love department. In recent years, the 'Horrible Bosses' star suffered a string of failed romances, including his split from Olivia Wilde and Keeley Hazell. As per Ok Magazine, the actor even failed in his attempt to score a date with Jennifer Aniston. A source told the outlet that the father of two asked their mutual friends to set him and the ‘Friends’ alum up, but things apparently didn't go as he hoped.
'Jen just isn't attracted to Jason physically'
"Jen kind of shudders when people suggest they date. Jason's not her type at all,” the source spilled of why she turned down the idea. Sudeikis and Aniston have surely developed a close bond through their heart-winning on-screen chemistry, which was seen in their hit comedies ‘Horrible Bosses’ and ‘We're the Millers’. However, Aniston firmly believes that their bond will remain strictly platonic, appreciating the connection they have built through their shared experiences in the film industry. "Jen just isn't attracted to Jason physically," explained the insider, adding "Their chemistry is more brother-sister than anything else."
The ‘Murder Mystery' star has always been vocal about her bond with Sudeikis, as she previously revealed that she is “very comfortable” with him. "We have fun together. He makes me laugh. All right, it's in our contract. We just have a fun time. It's years of knowing each other. We're comfortable. Ups and downs, hills and valleys, everything in between,” Aniston said in a 2016 interview. Previously, it was also revealed that Aniston has been a shoulder to cry on for Jason following his split from Wilde, who was allegedly romantically involved with Harry Styles.
'They're perfect for one another'
"She’s been an absolute rock for Jason throughout this nightmare. They talk and text every day. And she’s been sharing her coping strategies, such as meditation and yoga - plus cheering him up, and inviting him to Zoom parties where he can let his hair down,” an insider close to Sudeikis told Heat Magazine. They also added that Aniston has always admired his character and believes "he’s a wonderful guy who deserves so much better - just the type of partner she would like". Additionally, the tipster dished that many people in Hollywood believe the pair will start dating because "there's a growing sense they're perfect for one another, and Jen's definitely up for finding a new guy right now."
