What is Yoko Ono's net worth? Here's why John Lennon's widow slapped $150K lawsuit on former assistant again
Legendary singer John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono's has once again returned to the legal battle with a former personal assistant of The Beatles singer. She claimed Lennon's former assistant was again trying to profit from her family, despite the assistant previously agreeing not to share anything about the singer's personal and professional life in the public sphere.
As per the new suit obtained by TMZ, Yoko believes Frederic Seaman blatantly violated a court order when he sat down for a 23-minute interview "flanked by Lennon memorabilia" on September 10 and discussed matters that she claims were legally prohibited. The matters Yoko felt Frederic should not have brought up in the interview include sharing information about his employment with John Lennon and Yoko, John's murder, and Frederic’s 1991 book, 'The Last Days of John Lennon.'
Yoko maintains that Frederic Seaman discussed his intention to revise and reissue an expanded version of his book. This as per Yoko would "willfully and intentionally violate" the injunction laid down against him in a 2002 court battle as reported by TMZ.Now, Yoko has sued Frederic for copyright infringement over the family photos and breach of contract. She wants about $150k along with other damages and wants Frederic to stop talking about her and her family.
This is not the first time that Yoko and Frederic have been embroiled in a legal battle. TMZ reported that their battle has been going for decades. In one such instance, Yoko said Frederic pled guilty to stealing Lennon's journals back in 1983 but she had to drag him to court again in the late '90s, the site reported. In 2002 Yoko became victorious in the legal battle when a court-ordered Frederic Seaman to stop using the Lennon family’s photos that he was allegedly using for profiteering from Lennon’s legacy. Yoko even got an apology from Frederic in open court at that time. However, now that she has again brought up this issue, it seems that the battle is not yet resolved.
Now that the widow of icon John Lennon has claimed damages by suing the singer's former aide, it is worth pondering on how much her net worth is.
