'The Pitt' Season 2 episode 13 set to introduce Noah Wyle's wife and an exciting 'ER' reunion
Despite nearing its final run of episodes, Season 2 of 'The Pitt' fortunately shows no signs of slowing down. The chaos and commotion are at an all-time high at the emergency room of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Centre, which is battling a cyberattack, forcing it to revert to analog healthcare methods. On the other hand, the arrival of ICE Agents in last week's episode caused visible consternation to several patients and even a few members of the staff. The upcoming episode 13, as revealed by a TVLine report, is poised to feature an 'ER' reunion and introduce Noah Wyle's real-life wife as a patient.
Mary McCormack will appear on the upcoming episode of the HBO Max medical drama as Dr. Linda Conley, a neurosurgeon, alongside Wyle's Dr. Michael 'Robby' Robinavitch. It is interesting to note that McCormack appeared in recurring roles on the Seasons 10 and 12 of 'ER.' Her character's name was Debbie, and she was depicted as a physician at a clinic in Darfur. She appeared on NBC's medical drama for several episodes in 2003 and 2006. Wyle, on the other hand, was an integral part of 'ER' from the show's debut in 1994. He portrayed Dr. John Carter, with the premiere episode introducing him as a rookie doctor. By the time McCormack's later appearances on the show rolled in, Wyle had already stepped back from regularly appearing on 'ER'. He reprised his role in the show's final five episodes in 2009.
Apart from her contribution to 'ER', McCormack is also known for portraying Deputy National Security Adviser Kate Harper on the latter seasons of the drama series 'The West Wing' from 2004 to 2006. Her other television credits include 'Murder One', 'In Plain Sight', and 'Heels'. Elsewhere, it has also been confirmed that the upcoming episode 13 of 'The Pitt' will feature Noah Wyle's wife, Sara Wyle, as a patient named Ashley Davis. Not much is known about Ashley's arc, except the fact that she checks into the emergency room. Sara married her husband in 2015 and was previously seen on 'Californication,' 'Leverage: Redemption,' and 'Nip/Tuck.'
'The Pitt' continues to captivate audiences with its realistic portrayal of contemporary healthcare and the high-octane daily shift worked by doctors, medical students, and nurses. The high-quality, convincing portrayal in the HBO Max show is due to the fact that much of the cast underwent intensive training before filming began. Speaking on CBS Sunday Morning in January, Wyle had remarked that such a training wouldn't have gone down well with his 'ER' colleagues, "If this had been the ER cast, and we'd (been) asked to do three weeks of boot camp, you would have gotten six class clowns screwing around, not listening, playing with the gloves, (making) them into balloons, doing all sorts of crazy stuff."
