His mission is facilitated by the fact that he is Thor's reincarnation, however there is no connection between the two MCU movies. Even though there isn't any official date for when 'Ragnarok' Season 3 will premiere, Netflix has announced the new season for the drama series has been confirmed.

What happened in 'Ragnarok' Season 2?
Magne was seen fighting to accept his destiny as a resurrected Thor in Season 2 of Netflix's 'Ragnarok'. After killing the Jutul family's patriarch, Vidar, he knows he must kill the giants disguised as humans there, but is terrified. He's been psychologically damaged by it, but PTSD aside, he's also devastated because Vidar was Laurits/Loki's father. The Jutuls are moving forward with their plan to destroy the Norwegian town of Edda and eventually the entire planet, so Magne understands he must put his half-brother's emotions aside and utilize Mjolnir to put an end to the menace.
What to expect from 'Ragnarok' Season 3 ?
Season 1 of "Ragnarok" focuses mainly on Magne's developing powers and his conflicts with the Jutul family, while Season 2 ups the ante by introducing viewers to a plethora of other Norse god reincarnations. Moreover, it demonstrates that Magne's half-brother, Laurits (Jonas Strand Gravli), is, in fact, Loki the trickster. Somewhat predictably, the second season's finale finds the siblings at odds with one another after Magne betrays Laurits' confidence and the latter's schemes result in the release of the deadly Jormungandr, the serpent that can kill Thor.
Even with their potential partnership with Saxa (Theresa Frostad Eggesb), Magne and the other reincarnated gods are undoubtedly in jeopardy if Season 3 of 'Ragnarok' picks up where Season 2 ended. In addition to the fact that the remaining Jutuls are still destructive, Laurits has firmly sided with the anti-Magne faction and set his deadly "tapeworm" loose. It's probably safe to predict that the characters of 'Ragnarok' Season 3 will face a great deal of danger even without accounting for all the unavoidable new threats.
