The network had licensed the show from Netflix, where it originally debuted in 2020 and had a second season in 2022.
However, the show failed to attract viewers on The CW, drawing only 232,000 viewers for its second episode, which was the second lowest ever recorded by the network.

The reports suggest that this is not the first time that Efron has faced disappointment in his career.
His 2019 films 'Extremely Wicked' and 'Shockingly Evil and Vile' in which he played serial killer Ted Bundy haven't performed well at the box office.
His last hit film was 2014’s 'Neighbors' which starred Seth Rogen as his rival.
Efron’s next project is 'The Iron Claw,' a biopic of professional wrestler Kevin Von Erich and his family, which is produced by A24 and directed by Sean Durkin. The film is expected to be released in December 2023.

Zac Efron has also dealt with personal issues in recent years. In 2021, his ex-girlfriend Sarah Bro, 25, a Danish swimmer who dated him in 2019, spoke out about their relationship on a podcast.
She claimed that Efron had mental health problems and shouted at her when he got angry.
“He has never laid a hand on me, but I think - because I’ve been an elite swimmer, I’ve been used to being shouted at a lot - and that’s something I can not do now,” she said.
"He shouted a lot when he got angry and it made me really scared and I wanted to avoid that. But I think most of all, it was my own inner feeling that I had to fix this,” she shared.
