MOSCOW, IDAHO: Several screenshots posted on social media claimed University of Idaho murder suspect Bryan Kohberger reportedly complaining about his 'vision getting worse' on an online forum. On November 6, 2009, Kohberger reportedly wrote on tapatalk.com, “What is this… I keep waking up with severe VS as all I can see and every time it goes away slightly but now it just is sort of the same.. all I can see is afterimages and VS wt*. This is making vision worse. This can’t just keep up without a medical reason!”

Many web sleuths posted screenshots of the messages posted by a user many are claiming is Kohberger. MEAWW doesn't condone claims and speculations made by individuals on the net and depends on official statements to determine the facts of the case.

Meanwhile according to Rare Diseases, “Visual snow is a neurological disorder characterized by a continuous visual disturbance that occupies the entire visual field and is described as tiny flickering dots that resemble the noise of a detuned analog television.” According to the website, in addition to the static "snow," affected people may also have other visual symptoms such palinopsia, photophobia, sensitivity to light, entoptic phenomena, and decreased night vision.

Kohberger seems to have detailed his eye problems on a regular basis on the platform. “Usually like 30 seconds, it got better now from that so it took like 4 hours this time lol,” he added in another post.

When another user inquired about the sleep pattern on the community post, Kohberger reportedly responded back saying, “The night makes me just feel bored for some odd reason, the VS doesn’t do shit but I do wake up in the middle of the night, though that is not really new, so nope.” “Sometimes (newly so it will probably increase) in my peripheral vision (mostly left) it seems to flicker… something major is wrong with me,” he added in another post.

On the next day, November 7, 2009, he gave a more detailed explanation, writing, “It seems to be in my left eye peripheral… flickering like when you look at the sky but it is ignorable, I thought I was losing the [sic] vision but Nah it's just the flickering lol.” “When you look up at the sky and it is severe, do you ever [sic] experience that in your peripheral vision? I noticed it and thought I had some light in the vision but it was just the snow, flickering like usual,” he added.

The next day, Kohberger reportedly again posted about his vision in the forum, adding, “It is 24/7 but I feel like it is deteriorating my peripheral vision! It started after I woke up with severe VS. I think that maybe there is a pill that will at least stop this stupid side VS… it is almost like there is a film with like a black shade flickering over my eye… and it is not even there in my right eye periphery… please help because this is not just VS it is like a flickering black bit... Like when you look at the sky… I was forgetting about it and was not worried but now it's new so W**?”

Many other forum users asked him to visit an ophthalmologist or a neuro-ophthalmologist.

Kohberger responded back saying he was indeed planning to see a doctor soon, adding, “On the left side of your peripheral vision there is like.. a point where you pass something and it gets deformed slightly as if something flickers over it… I can feel this somehow in my eye but I will be seeing a neurologist in 4 days, and since I saw an eye doctor a month ago and no eye condition develops like that don’t tell me to see one (yes I saw an ophthalmologist and an [sic] optometrist or w.e).”

Meanwhile, Kohberger has been officially charged with four charges of murder and one count of felony burglary in connection with killing four University of Idaho students - Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, on November 13.
