MOSCOW, IDAHO: With the arrest of alleged murderer, identified as Bryan Kohberger, in connection with the deaths of four University of Idaho students, several theories regarding the stabbings as well as the suspect have surfaced online. It has been said that when the bodies of Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, and Madison Mogen were found at their off-campus house, a dog was also found but unharmed.

Later, it was found out that the dog named Murphy was of Kaylee’s. Reports said that the pet was in a room where the killings were not done. In a statement, Moscow Police had reportedly shared, “Officers did not find any evidence on the dog and there was no indication the animal had entered the crime scene.” Since then, the animal has become the point of numerous speculations.

Now, the December 30 arrest of the 28-year-old accused from his parents’ home has also revealed that he’s a vegan, leading people to believe that may be the reason he did not touch the dog. A Reddit user posted, “There were comments during the investigation about why Caylee's [Kaylee] dog was not harmed. Now we learn that Bryan Kohberger is vegan, and vegans are against animals being killed.”

The online share soon prompted reactions from other users too as one of them wrote, “a college house dog is use to strangers coming into the house.” Another one said, “That's actually interesting.” The third one stated, “We don’t know why he was vegan. It could stem from a mental health thing (OCD or etc), could be a health-related thing (he has lost a lot of weight since some of his yearbook pictures), or it could be about animals (or a number of other things) There isn’t just 1 reason people are vegan.”

When a person remarked, “Humans are animals,” another person satirically said, “But he can’t understand dog language. Murphy told him to fuck off- he just couldn’t understand it and continued it blunder on his stupid way. This guy infuriates me.”

“Wouldn’t it make more sense to believe the dog went to sleep downstairs with the girls that were home while the upstairs occupants were out?” a user on Reddit wondered. Another user shared, “We don’t know if he was currently vegan or not. The story was from relatives about him during his teen years. Plus people are vegans for various reasons- not just animal welfare.”

Meanwhile, contrary to people’s belief Kohberger’s family still thinks that their son is innocent. A statement from them read, “First and foremost, we care deeply for the four families who have lost their precious children. There are no words that can adequately express the sadness we feel, and we pray each day for them. We will continue to let the legal process unfold and as a family we will love and support our son and brother.”

“We have fully cooperated with law enforcement agencies in an attempt to seek the truth and promote his presumption of innocence rather than judge unknown facts and make erroneous assumptions. We respect privacy in this matter as our family and the families suffering loss can move forward through the legal process,” the family concluded.
