What is Nikole Hannah-Jones net worth? Disney slammed for woke screen adaptation of '1619 Project'
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: 'The 1619 Project', penned by Nikole Hannah-Jones and writers from The New York Times, landed on Disney's Hulu last week on January 26. It's an anthology of essays and poetry which is a guide for educators arguing that America was founded the year a group of slaves arrived in the country and not when independence was granted in 1776. The work has gained a serious reputation in recent times. However, the six-part docuseries has left the critics and viewers cold and unimpressed.
The Hulu series, executive produced by Oprah Winfrey, also includes parts of Hannah-Jones' own background. As the project follows America in its initial days, some critics have found several problems with it such as a lack of facts, dishonest content, and even being unbearable to several. NY Post politics and culture writer Jon Levine trolled the series saying that the 'greatest story' "Never told… except literally nonstop for years!" Kingsley Cortes, a 2020 campaign member for Donald Trump, said, "Greatest story never told because it’s fake." Speaker Newt Gingrich slammed the project as a "propaganda campaign on race" and Hoover Institution senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson said Jones "does not care about the truth" as per Fox News.

Daily Caller alum and 'Highly Respected' podcast host Scott Greer did not like the presentation of the project as well. Greer said that 'The 1619 Project' is the "pinnacle of ethno-narcissism" and radio host Erick Erickson slammed Hulu for "[engaging] in advancing the race based revisionist lies about the United States." Pennsylvania chapter of 'Moms for Libert' said, "Really? Stop spreading misinformation. Do better @hulu" The Hollywood Reporter further calls the Hulu adaptation a frustrating one. Writer Daniel Fienberg says, "More frequently, though, each episode feels like the summarizing of an essay, most from the original 1619 collection, which means that a subject worthy of two hours or 10 hours might be rushed through in 55 minutes, with little autobiographical notes scattered in."
