On Friday, September 15, Morris announced she was leaving the country genre music citing her concerns about the industry's resurgence of racist and misogynistic elements.
"I thought Iβd like to burn it to the ground and start over, but itβs burning itself down without my help," Morris said.
βThe further you get into the country music business, thatβs when you start to see the cracks. And once you see it, you canβt un-see it. So you start doing everything you can with the little power you have to make things better," the singer told the Los Angeles Times.
