She studied at Arlington High School and pursued her Bachelor in Business and Technology Management from the Polytechnic Institute of NYU.
Kristin has been a top athlete during her college and played as a point guard/forward for the St Francis College Terriers women's basketball team.

She told HGTV, "I discovered my love of holding a hammer working beside him." The TV host also pointed out the anxiety of performing a renovation within budget for the first time on television that would potentially be seen by millions of viewers.
She shared, "It can be stressful because you're not just battling your typical construction issues, there's an elephant in the room and that's the camera waiting to film."
She shared her experience, "Getting there was at times a grind," adding "but in the end, we always delivered a great product to our clients."

'Small Town Potential' star Kristin Leitheuser currently does not have any children but she does hope to have one of her own.
However, Kristin and her partner Davina Thomasula share two rescued dogs, Stephen and Winston. She often posts photos with her furry child on social media. Kristin shared with HGTV about her dogs, "We like giving our pets human names."
She added, “We found Stephen, who was about 9 months old at the time, roaming a street in Poughkeepsie. He was skinny and eating out of trash cans, and we were like, ‘Whose dog is this?’ until we realized he was ours!"
Kristine and Davina have been dating for around 10 years and are planning to get married soon.
