LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former ‘Good Morning America’ host Amy Robach may be returning to our TV screens soon. After being fired from ‘GMA3’ for an alleged affair with her co-host, TJ Holmes, Robach is now on the verge of signing a new deal with NewsNation.
The 50-year-old journalist has been off the news desk for over 10 months now, after being fired from ‘GMA3’ in December 2022. Since then Holmes and Robach have made many public appearances but the job hunt has not been fruitful. However, things are about to change for Robach since she was on the brink of signing a million-dollar deal with NewsNation that will see her return to the news desk.
What is Amy Robach’s new role?
Roback is in talks with executives at NewsNation to join the network for a new show tentatively titled Robach & Co, starting in January 2024. This will allow her to be on air just one day a week and pocket a heft sum of money for her services.
Although, there’s a slight twist in the tale. Holmes, who used to host ‘GMA3’ with Robach, will not be joining NewsNation with her. This was an option that the network was considering earlier but dropped the idea after some opposition from the existing employees of NewsNation.
Sources told the Daily Mail that many were worried that if both Robach and Holmes joined NewsNation together, the network would look like a "dumping ground" for anchors with problematic pasts.
An insider reportedly said, “First Chris Stirewalt then Chris Cuomo, and now Amy! It doesn't do our reputation any good. It makes it look like we are a dump for people who can't get a bigger and better job elsewhere.”
The insider further claimed that even though everyone at NewsNation respected Robach, she still came with "too much baggage.” They further stated, “The company should be going after talent who have not been fired from other networks.”
As per the Daily Mail, Robach's show has been described as "a weekly talk/sit-down with different newsmakers and human interest stories around the world.” For now, it seems that she will have the job but Holmes will have to look for different avenues to sustain himself.

Robach and Holmes have not kept their relationship a secret at all as the duo were spotted in public together a lot of times after their exit from ‘GMA3’. The duo has been spotted on walks together and also on night outs in the past few months and as per Page Six, Robach's divorce from her second husband, Andrew Shue, had almost been finalized after news of her affair with Holmes broke.
