Amanda Bynes was placed under conservatorship

Her conservatorship was terminated in March 2022 after she successfully pleaded her case in court. Her parents also supported her decision.

During this period, Bynes also dated her on-and-off boyfriend Paul Michael.

Michael said in an interview with Page Six that Bynes was irregular with her medication. When she was under her parents’ conservatorship, her mother ensured that she took her prescribed medicine.

An insider too confirmed the same in an interview with ETOnline in June, "Amanda was doing better recently and trying her best to take care of herself.”

The source added, “She has been making an effort to go to AA meetings, trying to hang out with sober people, and she looked good. The only problem is she is inconsistent about taking her medication, which causes issues.”
