A grinning Syreeta appears happier and healthier in a July 2023 post. We don't know how much weight Syreeta has dropped overall since being on the program, but on May 22, 2024, viewers were able to revisit her tale in 'My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now?', Season 9, Episode 4.
Even though Syreeta had only shed 70 pounds in the year and a half after her public debut, the episode shows that she had increased her level of activity. She obtained employment and consulted a personal trainer.

Syreeta from Season 11, Episode 2, of 'My 600-Lb Life' is one of many contestants on TLC's show who is coping with a history of trauma. Her childhood experiences of abuse and neglect played a major role in her tendency to overeat.
She thus started to gain weight, which is contrary to leading a healthy lifestyle. Syreeta was residing in Columbus, Ohio, with her spouse, Lawrence, when she was initially exposed to the public.
She weighed 603 pounds when she initially saw Dr Now. A year and two months after her first visit, Syreeta had to postpone her weight loss objectives due to an unforeseen circumstance.
In her 'My 600-Lb Life' segment, Syreeta said that she was "raised by a lot of people" starting when she was a little child. By the age of eight, Syreeta claims she had experienced physical, psychological, and sexual abuse while in foster care.
Syreeta finally ended up in girls' homes and then in juvenile incarceration since none of the people in her life were able to provide the necessary support. Syreeta had to accept the notion that she and her mother weren't intended to be in a relationship after she met her biological mother, and the connection quickly soured.
"So after that, I just made my peace with loving the feeling I got from food," she describes in the episode.

It was discovered by Syreeta that her daughter's kidneys had not formed, over six months into her pregnancy. The infant was born as a stillbirth since it did not survive.

When she went back to see Dr Now, she was told that in order to be eligible for weight reduction surgery, she needed to relocate to Houston and drop sixty pounds.
We're not sure if Syreeta moved or reached her desired weight because she doesn't provide anything about her personal life.

Syreeta used to be a hair stylist, but because of her girth, she was essentially bedridden on the program. Consequently, her spouse, Lawrence, took good care of her.
