Who is Syreeta Covington from 'My 600-lb Life'?

In her 'My 600-lb Life' episode, Syreeta reveals that she was "raised by a lot of people" since she was a child. She admits that she was sexually, psychologically, and physically abused at the age of eight. Since none of the adults in Syreeta's life were adequately prepared to assist her, she ended up in girls' homes and then in juvenile detention.

Syreeta had to accept the chance that she and her birth mother were not destined to be together after meeting her and their relationship quickly fell apart. "So after that, I just made my peace with loving the feeling I got from food," she says in the show.

By the conclusion of the episode, Syreeta has only a few months until Dr Now decides whether or not to clear her for surgery. He does, however, commend her for her hard work up to this point and she is anxious to get back into the exercise and continue to drop weight.

Who is Lawrence Covington, Syreeta's primary caregiver?

Syreeta used to be a hairstylist, but on the show, she's practically bedridden due to her girth. As a consequence, Lawrence Covington, her husband, looks after her. And, while Syreeta can't bring herself to believe Dr Now, she's content with her husband taking care of her. And he, for his part, is only concerned with what is best for her at this time. Syreeta may have what it takes to drop weight, qualify for surgery, and get healthy if she can set her trust problems aside. At this juncture, the choice is out of the question.

Where is Syreeta Covington from 'My 600-lb Life' now?

By the conclusion of the episode, Syreeta has lost a total of 79 pounds from her starting weight of 603 pounds. Dr Now discloses that if she follows the program for the next two months and stays on track with her weight reduction quest, he will clear her for surgery. It is still unclear whether she got the surgery after filming.

Syreeta hasn't disclosed whether or not she had weight loss surgery outside of the show. However, her Facebook page contains several posts from 2022 about working out, losing weight, and keeping on schedule. Considering her motivation to drop weight on 'My 600-lb' Life' and her openness to change, Syreeta may have had surgery or is on her way to doing so.

Syreeta's spouse, Lawrence, has posted photos of her on his Instagram account, but it's impossible to tell how much more weight she has lost since filming 'My 600-lb Life'. Still, it appears that Syreeta accepted the task given to her in the program and is working hard to achieve her objectives.

Catch Syreeta Covington's entire fight to get back to a healthier shape in the upcoming episode of 'My 600-lb Life' airing on Wednesday, Fenrtu on TLC at 8 pm ET.
