LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Minority Leader of the Senate, Mitch McConnell, made the headlines after a bizarre press conference. McConnell froze up while speaking and had to be escorted away after he could not form any words. This went viral in no time and 'The View' host Ana Navarro retweeted the video of him freezing up mid-sentence.

Navarro has openly dissed the Republican Party on ‘The View’ as well as Twitter and admitted to disagreeing with McConnell amid this potential health scare. Nevertheless, she has put aside the disagreements with the Republican heavyweight and wished him well.

What happened to McConnell?

McConnell made the headlines on Wednesday, July 26, after the weekly Republican leadership news conference. During the conference, he had just begun speaking about the annual defense policy bill when he abruptly stopped. For a moment, everyone was silent as they waited for him to continue, soon realizing that it was not a long pause but a complete freeze-up. Soon after that, McConnell, who could barely move, was escorted away from the conference after one of his colleagues asked whether he was OK, and received no response. As per NBC News, McConnell joined the conference once again and stated that he was “fine.” It was reported that he was feeling light-headed and had to step away.

‘This is hard to watch’

Navarro was absent from ‘The View’ and spent some time on Twitter speaking about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on July 25. However, when news about McConnell surfaced, she tweeted about it along with the video. ‘The View’ co-host wrote, "I disagree with him on much. But on a human level, this is hard to watch. I truly hope @LeaderMcConnell is ok.”

As per Yahoo News, in October 2022, Navarro defended McConnell during a heated argument with her co-hosts. She had said, “I think that Mitch McConnell and Elaine Chao have been truthful, and the few people that have been truthful in the Republican party need to be acknowledged.” Since then, she has switched sides and now says that she disagrees with him.
