'Looks like an album cover': Fetty Wap's photos from prison leaves the Internet scratching its head
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY: Fans had a lot to say when images of incarcerated rapper Fetty Wap surfaced online, and showed him having gained significant weight since the initiation of his six-year sentence in May for selling drugs.
Just prior to his sentencing, Fetty Wap's legal team advocated for a reduced prison term of at least five years.
They argued that his involvement was a result of the economic challenges triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Suddenly it felt like life was going in reverse and he became ashamed when he began to struggle to keep up the lifestyle that he created for so many,” his lawyers said.
“His judgment became impaired. Desperate to keep up with his financial obligations, Mr Maxwell became involved in the instant offense for a few months in the spring of 2020."
What did Fetty Wap do?
In October 2021, Fetty Wap was initially arrested on charges related to the acquisition of over 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine spanning from June 2019 to June 2020.
The allegations asserted that he transported these drugs from the West Coast to be distributed in Long Island and New Jersey.

What does Fetty Wap do today?
Willie Junior Maxwell II, the 31-year-old singer better known as Fetty Wap, has been in custody since August when his bail was revoked.
He was placed in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn due to concerns that his celebrity status could make him a target while in custody.
Prosecutors claimed that during a FaceTime call, he brandished a firearm and made threats of violence towards someone, leading to the decision to revoke his bail.
