LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elliot Page recently kicked up a media storm after he made shocking revelations about his past in a new memoir, titled 'Pageboy'. The Oscar-nominated star, who came out as transgender in 2020, revealed in his book that once an A-list actor told him that he will "f**k him to make him realize he is not gay."

In the chapter, titled ‘Famous A--hole at Party’, the ‘Inception’ star recalled a birthday party in Los Angeles in 2014 when an actor, who he describes as his "acquaintance,” verbally abused him just two months after he came out as gay. “You aren't gay. That doesn’t exist. You are just afraid of men,” the actor told Page, adding “I’m going to f*** you to make you realize you aren’t gay.” Page then claimed that after several days, he again ran into the actor at the gym where he attempted to retract his remarks. “I don’t have a problem with gay people I swear,” the actor said, to which Page replied, "I think you might.”

Why Internet believes Elliot Page referred to Chris Pratt

The ‘Juno’ star did not disclose the identity of the "famous a--hole" in the book, but netizens claimed that the man in question is Chris Pratt. TikToker @kylemarisa, a self-described "gossip activist" who likes to speculate about Hollywood blind items, posted a video in June 2023 claiming that the actor in question is "allegedly Chris Pratt,” according to Distractify. Some Twitter users also fuelled the rumors and speculated that it was Pratt. “Something that cocky can only be said by Chris Pratt,” one user said, while the second noted "Chris Pratt 100%." Another user noted, "We know it is Chris Pratt."

The netizens’ latest claims brought up a past feud between Page and Pratt. The incident took place in February 2019 when Pratt appeared on 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' to promote 'The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part'. At that time, the Marvel star said he just finished a 21-day Daniel Fast that he took part in through his church and that his pastor encouraged it. He also said the pastor shared his words of wisdom about balancing fame and his inner self. “If the spotlight that is shining on you is brighter than the light that’s within you, it will kill you,” Pratt recounted to Colbert.

'Being anti-LGBTQ is wrong'

Just a few days after, Page retweeted a clip from the interview and wrote: "Oh. K. Um. But his church is infamously anti-LGBTQ so maybe address that too?" His attacks didn’t end here as he apparently once again called out Pratt in another standalone tweet. "If you are a famous actor and you belong to an organization that hates a certain group of people, don’t be surprised if someone simply wonders why it’s not addressed. Being anti-LGBTQ is wrong, there aren’t two sides. The damage it causes is severe. Full stop. Sending love to all," he tweeted, according to Variety.

Soon after, the ‘Guardian of the Galaxy star refuted the claims in his own statement. "It has recently been suggested that I belong to a church which ‘hates a certain group of people’ and is ‘infamously anti-LGBTQ.’ Nothing could be further from the truth. I am a man who believes that everyone is entitled to love who they want free from the judgment of their fellow man,” Pratt’s statement read. A few years later, he again reiterated that he had never even visited the church that Page was referring to. "I never went to Hillsong. I’ve never actually been to Hillsong,” he told Man Health.
