'What does she have on him?' Internet wonders why Will Smith is still married to Jada amid Chris Rock dating snub claims

Jada Pinkett Smith has been making bombshell revelations with several news outlets ahead of the release of her book, 'Worthy'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Since 'Red Table Talk' was canceled, Jada Pinkett Smith has been dropping bombs about her life elsewhere, including a candid interview with People, and a sit-down with Hoda Kotb, where she revealed that she and Will Smith had been apart since 2016.

The 'Matrix' actress, who is promoting her upcoming book 'Worthy', which will be out on October 17, also claimed that Chris Rock asked her out before her husband Will slapped the comic at the 2022 Oscars.

The actress and producer reveals in her upcoming memoir that the Emmy-winning comedian made a pass at her while Will's alleged impending divorce became widely known.

Jada recounted to People, "I think every summer all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce. And this particular summer, Chris, he thought that we were getting a divorce. So he called me and basically he was like, ‘I’d love to take you out.’"

Jada continued, "And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No, Chris, those are just rumors.’ He was appalled. And he profusely apologized and that was that."

Jada further stated in her People interview that she hasn't spoken to Chris since Will smacked the comedian on the stage during the 2022 Academy Awards show.

The conflict ensued after the comedian made light of Jada's shaved-off head onstage. The actress had already shared publicly her experience with alopecia.

The drama among the three began developing in 2016 when Will's performance in 'Concussion' was passed up for an Oscar. No actors of color received acting nominations that year, sparking the #OscarsSoWhite protest, per Vanity Fair.

Jada told the outlet, "[Do I have] any desire to talk to Chris? Here’s my desire: I just hope that all the misunderstanding around this can be cleared up and that there can be peace."

Why are Jada and Will Smith not getting a divorce?

During the NBC Primetime Special with Today's Kotb, the host questioned Jada, "Why not just amicably divorce? Why not just do that?"

To which Jada replied, "We don't want to. We love our family, and we love each other. You know, it's more of a life partnership. Now, ten years from now, who knows?"

Kotb pushed the issue further by inquiring about any agreements the two might have should they each choose to date someone else, but the inquiry was rapidly dismissed.

Jada explained, "Well, you know, right now what we're focused on, which has been so beautiful, is deep healing - because of everything that's transpired. Now, what happens after that, I don't know yet."

Kotb further asked, "Is it possible that there would be a full reconciliation?"

"You know, he's getting old. You know what I'm saying? He's getting old, who's going to be there for him, Hoda? It's going to be me," Jada affirmed, "It's going to be me. I will be there," implying that the couple would never completely separate.

Enraged internet believes Jada wants to 'make Will Smith look like the biggest clown'

Amid Jada's latest disclosure about Chris Rock asking her out, internet users are wondering why Will is still married to his wife, and why they still haven't filed for divorce despite all the embarrassment.

An X (formerly Twitter) user @evenmaina posted on the social media platform, "Gaddemit, this womans mission in life is to make Will Smith look like the biggest clown. Does this explain the slap?"

The same user asserted in another comment after that, "Naaah I’m conviced there is a big reason why he hasn’t divorced her."

A second user questioned, "Everytime something comes up about Jada it always paints Will in a bad limelight. What does she have on him?"

"There have been wiered stories about P Diddy and Will Smith.. maybe she knows a lot, maybe it's what messed her up and the family," speculated another user.

A fifth person stated, "I think Will Smith is going through the "Humiliation stage"." "He married an alpha widow," quipped another.
