LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez has opened up about her dating preferences and what she would expect from her potential partner.

Selena Gomez said she has standards and boys confuse them with high-maintenance
She also revealed that she has standards and is not afraid to ask for what she wants in a relationship.
She said boys confuse it with high maintenance.
In an interview with “SiriusXM Hits 1 LA With Tony Fly and Symon” on August 31, Gomez talked about her new song, 'Single Soon' and how it reflects her attitude towards dating.
She said, “The line was really fun because I’m not ashamed to say that I actually require X, Y, and Z for you to be with me. In a way, it was just meant to be for the attitude of the song and that’s genuinely how I feel.”
The 'Only Murders in the Building' actress explained that some boys might confuse her standards with being high maintenance, but she clarified it.
"I think I have standards," Selena explained. "And I think I live in a world right now where boys confuse standards with high maintenance."
How cool you got to be to impress Selena Gomez?
While clarifying standards and high maintenance she said, “You gotta be cool, man. Not cool in the sense that people think you’re cool.
"You just gotta be nice and like, please make me laugh and also just be good to my family and people around you.”
How is Selena Gomez enjoying her single life?
Gomez says she is enjoying her life and is reflecting on her single life. She said, "I think everybody goes through the phase of, 'Oh, it'd be nice to like have someone,' and I get that," Gomez said, as per Access Hollywood.
"But you know, I'm just enjoying where I'm at and I just want to be happy with who I am so that whenever that person comes into my life, I can just have them add on to me instead of being this insecure, you know, person that I normally used to be," she added.
Gomez also shared how she feels about entering her 30s and how she has overcome the negativity from her past.
She said, “I’m so grateful that people have listened to my journey and hopefully related to it and understood that I was just trying to show everybody that I wasn’t in a good place but I just wanted freedom from all that negativity.
"And once I released it, it just feels so much better. I mean, I have new problems, but now I can figure them out on my own," PopSugar reported.
