Does Wendy Williams have breast implants? Botox, liposuction to dealing with ‘saggy boobs’ during lockdown
Wendy Williams has always been the brash host infamous for her controversial statements and on-air spats with celebrities on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’. For New York's “shock jockette”, everything needs to be big — from her hair to Gucci bags and from shiny diamond rings to her breasts.
The 5-foot-11 framed beauty is known for her huge wigs and her big breasts. In an interview, Ciera Payton — who plays Williams in the Lifetime film 'Wendy Williams: The Movie' — admitted that one of the “most challenging things” playing Wendy was getting the boobs right. Ever since she stepped foot into the glamor industry, there has been quite a mystery around her breast implants. Here's an inside look into her cosmetic surgeries.
If reports are to be believed, she got a tummy tuck six months after giving birth to son Kevin Jr in 1999. Not just that, she has confessed to having liposuction done, a breast augmentation and implants, a face lift, botox and laser treatment to reduce scarring.
Did Wendy Williams get breast implants?
In 1994, Wendy went under the knife and chose to have her implants surgically placed under the breast muscle. Confessing that she got breast implants, she announced on her own show, “I’m telling you, under-the-muscle implants since 1994!” adding, “They still stay up! If you’re going to do it, go under the muscle!” If you're wondering what she meant, breast implants can be inserted in multiple ways — from on top of the breast, with incisions through the armpit, stomach, nipple or under the breast. The host, however, recommends getting it under the breast.
Williams admits that she also had liposuction and a tummy tuck. “I just wanted to fit into good clothes,” she said. “I wanted the body that matched my personality. And the body I have now matches my personality.” Clarifying that she didn't do it for TV, Williams said, “I didn’t do anything for TV,” adding, “I was already here, and already okay with myself. What am I supposed to fix at this point?”
When she had the awkward talk with her son
The host told PEOPLE that her son found about her breast implants while watching ‘The Wendy Williams Show’. “I gagged when my son came and asked me about the implants,” she said. “It was ‘Where did you hear that?’ But it was on my own show.”
“Our son did not know I had breast implants,” Williams said. “So I sat down and went through plastic surgery with him. And it was great, because I was able to let him know that when his dad met me, I was completely natural. The beauty of my story is that ‘Your dad met me as a frog and I have transformed myself, because I wanted to, into a swan.’”
Botox injected in her jawline
In 2020, Wendy went on to show a graphic close-up of herself getting a shot of Botox injected in her jawline on an episode of her show. “This morning I got here at 6:30 for a little breakfast procedure,” she said at the start of the segment. “Roll the tape!”
Confessing how she got a sharpened jawline and “a little cheekbone from the back", she proudly gleamed, “I feel like I’m 35!” Joking how everyone should consider it, she told her audience, “Look, my doctor is in the building right now and I’ve been dealing with her for more years than this show was invented,” adding, “If you see something, do something. Don’t just assume that your skin don’t crack.”
Losing 50 pounds in three years
In 2012, Williams got terrible news when she stepped on the weighing scale at the doctor's clinic. She weighed 195 pounds. In 2015, she gave an update to her viewers on how she lost 50 pounds in three years.
“I no longer believe in fad diets, crash diets. I don’t believe in diet pills,” the host said. “I don’t want my heart to race and pop out of my chest. Yes, I did have a jump-start because years ago I did get the liposuction and a tummy tuck, but I have to say that, if there is a poster child for plastic surgery and the jump-off to a new lifestyle, it would be me.”
“Of all the crazy diets I’ve been on, none have ever been as effective as [saying to myself], ‘Just push back, fatso. Just stop eating so much,’” she shared, adding, “And I don’t love food as much as I used to.”
“Slow and steady is the name of the game,” she advised her viewers. “It’s not going to happen overnight.”
When she joked about her saggy boobs
Williams has always been candid about her cosmetic procedures and she once told Essence.com: “If I gave you $10,000 and said you can use my doctor, you’d do it. If you say you wouldn't, I venture to say, 'Somebody’s lying, and it ain’t me'.”
Recently, in an interview on an episode of ‘The Dr Oz Show’, Williams poked fun at how she had to deal with “saggy boobs” during the lockdown.
“I agree with what they’re saying regarding 10 or less, how about one or less, nobody. Get on the phone and I do agree with also no elective surgery,” adding, “It’s just that, as a surgery girl, when you save your money and you’ve been planning for years, and then you have your appointment and all of a sudden the corona pops up, and I got to deal with these saggy boobs.” She then quipped. “How much longer before I get them pulled back up?”
