Who is Wendy Deng's fiance? Rupert Murdoch's ex spotted with mystery man on St Barts beach, flaunts engagement ring
Christmas came early for Rupert Murdoch's ex-wife Wendi Deng as she was spotted cozying up with a mystery man on a beach in St Barts on the weekend. The entrepreneur also flashed a huge ring on her engagement finger.
Deng swapped the snowstorm and plunging temperatures in her home town of New York City for some winter sunshine on the Caribbean island. In pictures exclusive to Daily Mail, the media mogul, art dealer and movie producer laughed and joked with a dark-haired companion.
Deng, who was married to media tycoon Murdoch for 14 years, seemed without a care in the world as she frolicked on the sands with the mystery man who may soon become husband No. 3. The beach was outside the luxury Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France hotel, where an ocean room will set guests back by a princely sum of €4,070 (almost $5,000) per night. The pair seemed to be celebrating as they could not stop smiling at each other while taking a dip in the ocean and relaxing on the sand. Deng was seen snapping several photos of the beautiful island as the mystery male friend couldn't take his eyes off the 52-year-old.
If Deng and mystery man got married it would be the third time for her to walk down the aisle. She married Jake Cherry in 1990 whom she met when he was 50 and she was 19. Cherry and his wife Joyce took Deng under their wing when she came to America as a student and she moved into their California home with them. Cherry divorced his wife and married Deng, but the marriage didn't last and they divorced in 1993.
Deng was married to Murdoch between 1999 and 2013 and is the mother of two of his children Grace, 19, and Chloe, 16. Their marriage famously ended amid allegations of an affair between Deng and former UK prime minister Tony Blair, something he has strenuously denied.
Deng was linked to Alphabet chairman Eric Schmidt and she was later said to be in a 'serious' relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. A source close to Putin told US Weekly in 2016 that Deng and Putin were dating and their relationship had become 'serious.'
The identity of her male companion on the beach this week was unclear but they certainly seemed to be enjoying each other's company. Meanwhile, Murdoch has moved on to his fourth wife Jerry Hall whom he married in 2016.
