'Weirdest Crossover': Internet bewildered after Ivanka Trump and family meet soccer star Kylian Mbappe

Following a sensational match against Denmark, France's Kylian Mbappe met Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and their three children

DOHA, QATAR: French national team star Kylian Mbappe was pictured with Donald Trump's daughter and son-in-law, Ivanka and Jared Kushner, and their children after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Denmark recently. 

France is one of the first teams to qualify for the knockout stages following its win against Australia and Denmark in the first two games. Mbappe was one of the players who really shined with his performance as he scored twice, including an 86th-minute winner, to secure his team's place in the round of 16, as per Sports Manor.

Following his performance, Mbappe met the Trumps, including Ivanka's sons Joseph and Theodore, along with daughter, Arabella. The former White House advisor posted a series of photos on her social media with her husband and Mbappe with her children. She praised the 23-year-old player in her caption, saying, "An honor to congratulate @k.mbappe on France’s incredible win tonight! Kylian is as kind as he is talented!" In another photo, Mbappe was also seen signing their jerseys. 

While Mbappe's game on the field has received immense praise from soccer fans, his interaction with the the Ivanka and co comes as a surprise. A person called it the "weirdest crossover" on Twitter for obvious reasons. Since both Mbappe and the Trump family hail from different countries, not many would have expected them to be friendly with each other. 

Another Twitter user claimed that Mbappe had no idea who they are. “Other way around…The Trump family met Kylian Mbappe," somebody commented, referring to Ivanka's children's star-struck expressions. Fans also criticized the family for using their status to meet the star. A tweet read, "Rich family rocks up asking to meet everyone. What is he supposed to do, run away? Hahah." Another comment called out Ivanka for not hanging out with the US players, saying, "Why aren’t you hangin with US players." A netizen also said, "Jared doing big business in Qatar."
