'We'd all been dead': 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' fan reveals how show saved his family during tornado
MOORE, OKLAHOMA: A TikTok user named @sloppyjoey17 recently shared an incredible story about how 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' saved his family's life during a tornado. According to his father, on the same day as the series finale in May 2003, a tornado swept through the Midwestern United States, where they lived. Despite his wife, children, and neighbors taking refuge in a nearby storm cellar, @sloppyjoey17's father refused to move as he just wanted to watch the 'Buffy' series finale. "So I sit there and I said, 'F*** it, I'm watching Buffy,'" he said.
After watching the entire episode alone, he realized that his family was trapped in the storm cellar after a giant oak tree had fallen on top of it. When he heard his family screaming from inside the cellar, he discovered that the tree had trapped them inside. He added, "If I was inside that f****** cellar with y'all, we'd all been dead!" Both @sloppyjoey17 and his father credited Sarah Michelle Gellar and the 'Buffy' series for saving their lives.
